It was a great movie followed by an even greater TV series. Sarah Michele Geller did a wonderful job acting Buffy. But a comparable TV series would have to be ANGEL. I loved both series they were the same but different, I loved all the actors in Angel, but you are correct Buffy was a wonderful series. I always used to wonder how the watcher fitted in all his library duties like logging out books, taking them back in, and putting them back on the shelves. But yes, I'm being very, very picky and facetious. It was a brilliant show. Sarah Michelle Geller was beautiful and this contrasted with her gruesome job of killing demons and vampires, but she was a stunner alright and performed so well in this show.

I'll never forget how much this show helped me out as a kid, I was 16 and a high school outcast like the characters in the show, only at the time I had just moved to a different state than the one I grew up in and didn't have any friends so This show and it's characters were like the friends I looked forward to seeing every week. The show helped me through those tough times to make it to junior year when I came out of my shell and learned some social skills and finally made some friends. It's funny I came across it by accident, I was scrolling through the TV guide and saw Buffy 2 hours long, I assumed it was the movie and turned on the channel and lo and behold it was the show. I remember thinking that they made that kind of stupid movie into a TV show? It's gonna suck! But than I saw that it was different, it was dark and yet funny I loved it, but I thought it would never last beyond one season, boy was I wrong! Lol by the way these are the best Buffyverse trailers I have ever seen!

I feel so out of place here- I assume most of the people in the comments are adults since the show is from the 90's. However, I am almost 13 and love Buffy the vampire slayer! When my dad was younger he used to watch this show with my mom! And now I have watched it. I love these characters and how they portray themselves the show and how you really get to see them grow as the show progresses! This show fills me with happiness and will always remind me of sitting on my couch with my parents watching this wonderful show! I've always loved the little bits where they mention bunnies and Anya gets all freaked!

Buffy is the supreme supernatural series imo. I loved the first few seasons of true blood as well but besides both being vampire shows theres not a ton of comparison. True blood was just crazy camp fun popcorn tv but i took buffy a lot more seriously. Buffy had insane character development and surprisingly one of the most well written shows i’ve seen. True blood had a ton of plot holes and pretty cheesy but still really entertaining in the beginning

YES. You should definitely buy the show! What you should know about Season 1 is that it is only 12 episodes (as opposed to the regular 22 of the other seasons). It is also much more lighthearted and considerably cheesier than the rest of the seasons. It has it's moments but if you don't love season 1 right away hold on until a little ways into season 2, that's when the show really finds its footing and becomes brilliant! IMO, it's the most intelligent, well-written, and hilarious show ever.

I started watching buffy mid season 4 when I was 3 years old. When season 4 ended I watched season 1-3 and continued to watch it live seasons 5-7 until 2003 of course. I was depressed after it ended but I watched reruns on fx for years and just last year I decided to watch it once every year. Buffy was my childhood and I can never let it go. BEST SHOW EVER MADE!! Ironically you did one of your best or best trailer for what many fans consider the weakest season of the show. I actually think that it is highly underrated myself. Loved the shot of Sid the dummy @ 1:22 for being one of the things to fear, as well as teen comedy vibe of the opening segment and the final title sequence with scenes intercut was awesome. BTW The show at 2;31 of Buffy raising the steak makes her look serial killer esque. Haha

That's a point as well. I remember it being pointed in the series several times. Council was hot happy with the fact that she had a social life though, and I remember one of them asking Xander if she needed help from him often, kinda trying to make her sound pathetic. But yeah, her friend group was definitely the real source of her strength. I remember how broken she was in 301 and was looking for something to hold on to that she held on to Lily. What makes Buffy strong is the people around her.

They have Buffy reruns. I’m recording them from season one. I absolutely am enjoying the show as I did when I first saw it. I of course fine Angel hot and Spike Billie idolish which is so cool. But I have this new found love for Xander. He’s hilarious! I am literally cracking up out loud! Why didn’t he so well like a Jim Carry or a Ryan Reynolds’? He’s attractive, tall and believable. The one liners are killing me. Lol I love the friendship between the 3 of them. Poor Willow and her unrequited love and Xander’s disastrous court ships. LOL. This is a gem of a show! I’m watching season 2! Having a blast.

I kind of agree, I mean they let a bit too much of the Master into it, like the Buffy/Master arc, and kinda too much Buffy/Angel love. But besides that, it helps entice new viewers, but still leaving some mystery, well just enough to watch it fully I think.

Well, no. The Master and Angel are important arcs and should be the focus, but there are too many spoilers. The trailer shows Angel is a vampire, which isn't revealed until episode 7. It also shows shots of the Master dying, which would definitely ruin the season finale for people who haven't seen it.

Yeah its pretty good. At times it seems a little/lot mediocre, but also this started out as a Mid-Season show, in the 90;s. Which is also part of its greatness. I was scared at first, thinking it was going to be pretty mediocre, and the name of the show.. I finally dwelved right into it, one of the best TV shows out there, and its spin-off Angel was a good spin-off which is rare.

I can asure you that this series is exceptional good! The 90s look and the bad cgi effects are sort of charming and buffy is still worth seeing. In my opinion, this series started as a mediocre teenage-mystery-girly-show with some comedy in it BUT thoughtout the 1st season the characters will grow on you and u will fall deeply in love with there storylines and destiny. And when u finally made it to the 2nd and 3rd season u will also notice that there is a high improvement in visual effects, mature topics and overall character/story telling (i guess this comes with the higher budget). Although buffy is originally a series for teenage girls its still watchable for guys too and if you want something more dark and with a lil bit more action then just watch till season 3 and lern something about the character Angel, cause his spin-off series is made for men, has some distance to the girly highschool/collage story you should give it a shot

BroetchenPlusStulle Actually the first two seasons were aimed at teenage boys and young men. In 1998 Sarah said she had ALOT of teenage boys come up to her about Buffy. This is because seasons 1 & 2 were more action oriented, featured hot girls in sexy outfits, and were lighter in tone, which is typically what guys like. Season 3 is when the show got more girly with more emotional topics and the series generally became more dark and twisty. They never really went back. It just kept getting more and more dramatic, which is why I've decided to take a break after watching seasons 1-3. My mom watch the entire series, every single episode, when it was new. From the series premiere in 1996 to the series finale in 2003, she watched it. She's an original Buffy fan.

Buffy is the only show on the planet that is considered to have its own academic discipline. Academic conventions are held every year where scholars meet up from all around the world to discuss Buffy, Buffy has had a huge influence on not only the direction, but the creation, of many shows. The executive producer of Dr. Who said that Buffy was "the blueprint" for the series. Veronica Mars wouldn't even exist without Buffy. Gilmore Girls, Skins, Supernatural, Lost Girl, and Game of Thrones are just a few of the many shows that were influenced by Buffy. Buffy is LITERALLY one of the greatest TV series of all time. It's not an opinion. It's a proven fact. The first season is rough. I'm not gonna lie. But you know how most shows start off amazing in the first season, and then the quality gradually declines each season to the point where it's unwatchable or just gets cancelled?? Yeah, well Buffy's the opposite. Spike's trademark coat cost $2,000 from a top fashion store. It was then run over repeatedly by a truck to give it that distressed look. James Marsters only read the scripts for his own scenes, as he was a fan of the show and didn't want to have the rest of the episode spoiled for him. Series creator Joss Whedon has said that the idea for Buffy came from all the horror movies he had seen featuring a helpless young blonde who would almost always be the first to die. I started watching this show 3 days ago and it was not as bad as I thought it'd be. Prior to watching it in 2022, I wasn't into Buffy and didn't watch it at the time because I thought it was a girls' show. Now after I've been ignoring it for years, I've finally watched it and started to like it. Now I'm getting into it, at least it's better than other chicks' shows like SVH, Sex and the City, The Golden Girls and other chicks stuff. Since I love Daria (another series that also premiered in 1997 and it stars a hot chick) and Blade (which is also about a vampire slayer who kicks ass), I'll get a kick out of this show and will start loving it overtime.

The first season is always going to be great because it's the first time u get introduced to the show characters, everyone is meeting each other for the first time. willow, Xander, and Cordelia, were your average teens going to school but all that is going to change.
