It's true that Buffy has been the slayer longer, but Faith uses a lot of anger in her fights, and anger gives a slayer strength. I LOOOOVE slayer vs slayer fights, they're so uniquely violent and synchronized! Thank youuuu!! One more to go!! :D

Plus Buffy needs Faith alive. Faith is fine killing Buffy. So not really an even match.

Its interesting really because killing Faith is something that technically goes against what Buffy herself believes. And yet when it comes to Faith, her normal rules stop applying. There are no longer any heroes or villains just two people who REALLY want to end each other because they can't stand to look at each other and see themselves. Which is why its kind of hilarious - Faith might be the one who ended up getting stabbed, but she got what she wanted in a way - she got Buffy to actually do it and to act upon less heroic and more negative emotions. Buffy stabbed another person with intent to kill not because of some grand heroic stakes, but because she hated her and she wanted to save Angel. Buffy might have won the physical battle, but she lost the mental war. She was forced to accept what she is capable of and that she is not just all sunshine and rainbows. And that realization and recognition of her own darker sides is why she fruitlessly doubles down so hard on normalcy in season four - she opened up the door to her less than perfect side and now its always there.

You are forgetting that a key element of slayer accessing their power is anger. So while Buffy has been slayer for longer all that means is that she has more power to draw from. Meanwhile Faith might be younger but she her anger is unhinged unlike Buffy, so she most likely draws out absolute maximum she can and thus it events out.

The Slayer derives her power from pain, not anger (hence why they seem to have a things for S&M).

Power is tied to adrenaline and works similarly to how vampires power up which is adrenaline/anger.

Faith was a lost cause and buffy knew it and killing her meant saving angels life.. its a no brainer as to why her "rules" didn't apply.
