"You really don't know what a Slayer is. Trust me when I say you're gonna find out." Pretty badass line right there!

Sad that the line set her up for being blamed for Maggie. But yes a great line. Right up there with the best!!

Okay so I love your reactions to Buffy, but I ADORE the fact that you know when to talk and when to shut it, so you don't talk right over something fantastic a character says. You are great at that!

Buffy appearing on the screen behind Maggie when she thinks she's giving an oscar winning performance to Riley. Iconic to this day. "If you think that's enough to kill me, you really don't know what a Slayer is." Maggie was stunned.

Walsh was mythtaken about what a Slayer really is.

Mannnnn when Buffy gives a speech/declaration/monologue, the ground trembles by her profound impact and what it all means. I'm excited to see how you react to how it all ends 😁

It has been confirmed by Doug Petrie (writer, director, co-exec. producer) that Professor Walsh was never intended to be the Big Bad of season 4, although it is true that her time on the show was cut short by her own request. He has also confirmed that it was always their intention for Professor Walsh to be killed by her creation. Also: You've got red on you.

Im surprised with how impressed maggie was that she didnt try to figure out how and why buffy can do what she can and trying to make a super soldier.

Love this one! I know there's some iconic lines in this ep, but the ernest delivery of "Don't worry, I've patrolled in this halter many times." Kills me. 😂ICYDK. 'Private Benjamin' is a movie starring Goldie Hawn who plays a rich socialite that joins the army. It also stars Eileen Brennan (Mrs. Peacock in Clue). It's an iconic 80s comedy.

The I In Team shows us Prof Walsh's real intent revealed. We also see Willow suspecting that not all is well with The Initiative. Spike of course is gradually beginning to rely on The Scoobies, and they can use him as an ally too, but at this point do we trust him. At the end Adam of course stabs Walsh clean through with his arm spear and says 'mummy', we are not too upset by this after she set up Buffy to die, and spied on Buffy and Riley having sex. Obviously Adam is a homage to the Frankenstein type monster the secret of 314. We see the Willow/Tara relationship start to build, and also the Anya/Xander one too which is comedy gold, revealing all their intimate secrets. The Private Benjamin line, was the best line ever!

Maggie's speech was hilarious. How did she not actually check that Buffy was out for real or even research the slayer? This is why she got killed. She sees it all as a controlled science experiment instead of what it is, playing with things she doesn't understand. They see demons as animals and abnormalities in nature that can be tamed, good or evil, they don't know or care. I think that Ethan and other demons could sense that there's something different and dangerous about Adam.

Walsh isn't Riley's mom, but they have a toxic gender-swapped version of Buffy and Giles' relationship

They do have similar looks, I thought the same thing. I wonder if it was an intentional casting choice.

If I remember correctly, Maggie was supposed to be the Big Bad this season, but the actress wasn't happy about that. She tried to get out of her contract and so the writers switched direction late in the season. The belief that she had other obligations was created by her representatives. That's part of the reason this season feels a bit disjointed.
@leah68493 ай бұрын
Absolutely would have loved them to go in that direction.
@williambowman23263 ай бұрын
Season 4 has many stories told about by different people with different outcomes over the years. Most likely reason was this was the first season of Angel and the focus ,production, and written objectives were now being split. Luckily disjointed works due to this year is all about start up, recalibrated objectives and everyone trying to find their identity.

That's the story the production team told, but Lindsay Crouse said she was in it for the long haul and that getting killed off was a big surprise to her.

@@AaronHunter Yeah, this is what I've seen as well but there's a lot of conflicting information out there that has persisted probably because a lot of this played out before we could get direct info, so the more prominent stories/rumors dominated the online and fan space.
@MatthewSnell-zh3cd3 ай бұрын
@@williambowman2326 agreed. Joss Wheaton was concentrating on Angel during this time.
