Buffy going back to the tower, the last thing she knew in life, is so heartbreaking. What is she thinking as she's standing there? Did something go wrong? Does she have to do it all over? Bringing back that music cue from The Gift and doing the voiceover - that whole scene gets me every time.

Omg... this was incredibly traumatic for Buffy .... alone, digging herself out, almost dying doing so, seeing her tomb stone, that car signal (she’s like an infant I’d guess so all this negativity and noise oh god), then seeing herself getting ripped apart (Buffy bot), etc! Insanity.

Dawn is so awesome at the end of this episode. Dawn gets overshadowed a bit because she doesn't have powers, but in a way that just makes her more impressive. Because every time she does something awesome, she does it without powers. Same reason why one of my favorite Willow moments is her chasing Darla off with holy water back in the second episode. Sure, she does more impressive things later, but that was her standing up to a legendary vampire when she was just a teenage girl, with nothing but holy water and shear nerve.

Another great one. I loved your reaction to Tara's axing of the biker boss. Great observation about how Buffy's "natural calling" to help people and battle evil is so strong that it pushed through the fog state she was in. I also just want to give a shout out to Xander's "Oh no... S-so STUPID!" moment. Not just the line delivery, but the look on his face, in his eyes - it's probably one of Nicholas Brendon's greatest performances in the series.

Yeah, its basically same spell as in Fear Itself. Also funny part - Buffy waking up buried alive and having to dig out into surface was one of her nightmares in Season 1 episode Nightmares, which also portrayed Giles biggest nightmare being Buffy being dead because of him. Also Xander having some military knowledge goes back to Season 2 Halloween episode where he literally got turned into a soldier and latter used remaining knowledge to get the rocket launcher.

5:22 It's true! I never made the connection!! 6:55 I don't think they trust Faith. Buffy may have told them what happened in L.A., but the last memory they have of her is pretty bad and difficult to remove. Specially Dawn, she had the hardest time with her ;) Willow is Buffy's metaphorical spirit, so in that sense it's normal that no one but her realized she was the real Buffy. Buffy's whole attitude during this whole episode is fantastic. It not only feels natural in rewatches, it also gives the feeling there could actually be something wrong about her, that she could have been brought back wrong in some still unknown way. About Tara, it makes sense she has more difficulties showing her whole potential. The environment she's grown in hasn't been the best to nurture self-esteem... The scene in the tower with Buffy and Dawn, my absolutely favorite in the whole episode. Thaaaaank you!!! :D

Its extremely rare but in odd cases its been found that there's a thing called hyperstrength real life super strength and where your unable to feel pain, so most people end up breaking bones and cracking their own teeth from clencing the jaw, one famous case is of a 19 year old girl who actually LIFTED a pickup truck off of her dad when it fell on him while he was working on it, so take it or leave it lol, at least that's what I've discovered

Yeah, I think Buffy has spent so long being the hero it's legitimately just a part of her character now, it's basically automatic. I know in terms of like self-help psych type stuff here's some saying where paraphrased it's like a choice becomes a habit becomes a tendency becomes a virtue/character trait. It's not essential to who she is in the sense that she had to grow into it through experience and continually stepping up in her life, but that's totally in theme with the whole choices/existential responsibility and coming of age thing that no one is really born to be anything, we can only choose those things we can live with of all those options or choices afforded to us in life.

This season and 7 had a higher budget, that's the reason why Tara and Willow use more magic now than in all previous seasons combined. I think the budget was 2.4 million per episode. WB offered just 1.8, so they moved from WB to UPN. WB was really upset and didn't allow Angel, which was still on WB, to crossoever with Buffy at all. SMG was also upset by the change of network.

This question has been asked a numerous time and the answers is still the same. Buffy died once when the Master killed her, they that activated Kendra. But when Kendra died, Faith was activated. So, unless Faith gets killed, no one else would be activated.

No, instead, it left a huge vulnerability for The First to come back as strong as it did. The Eye thing told Anya and Giles that when they brought Buffy back from the grave is what gave The First it's foothold on earth to attack. The 1st time, it showed up as Jenny Calendar with Angel in season 3 on BTVS it wasn't as strong. It only had the ability to taunt and mess with Angel's mind. But Buffy was able to talk through to him, and the random snowfall from the hire power saved him from killing himself. Buffys resurrection really unbalanced things on earth.

Xander's "needs more male friends" comment was for the same reason you went blank on his NORAD comment. NOR A D = North American Aerospace Defense Command. US & Canada command to detect missiles or planes coming over the north pole and later any submarine launched missiles. Cheyenne Mountain Complex has the Alternate Command Center and a mock up of the entrance was used in StarGate SG-1 series. Or as he references, "it's a guy thing."

Even on Angel, the only one she really had the most contact with is Angel and even the Scoobies weren't thinking of bringing him back into the fold. But I can see why you were thinking it. I disagree. They should've considered Faith. Go visit her, tell her what happened. They knew she wad in rehabilitation because Buffy was there to witness her turn herself in. But the mystical world needed authority and it would've justified breaking Faith out....although she was more than capable of breaking out herself just fine.

And you gotta realise, it took Wesley convincing her that she was needed when she knew that Angel wasn't taking care of things but Angelus was released. And the last time they met up with Faith was during the body swap, plus, I believe it was only Willow who encountered Faith back in season 4 "This Year's Girl", so did they really settle things between them since then? Perhaps by season 7 they did and in Angel season 4, Willow came in to help but that was through Fred's help, not Wesley or anyone else. (and Fred was just coming back from Pylea by the time Buffy died in the end of season 5)

Y'know, Spike is basically the Danny Strong character if he were a vampire. Short, kinda weird looking, people put up with him, but he's the comic relief that steps up occasionally. In life he was a two-bit poet and Momma's boy. Now he makes big speeches right before getting zapped or falling into a grave. Other demons are dangerous--Spike gets a chip. He may be Blonde Bear, but if not a vampire, he is Jonathan of the 19th century. I like Spike, but I think Shan is looking at him through vampire goggles.

You know, a real cheaty way of creating.a massive slayer army would be to pull a flatliners on Buffy. Just keep killing and resuscitating her and each time a new slayer will be chosen. Heck, you could even do a pyramid scheme to build your army. Kill each new slayer only twice and the numbers will grow exponentially. Doesn't make for good TV though I guess.

@@MrHaddow777 Wouldn't work. Each Slayer upon their death activates the next. So when she had her clinical death in S1, Kendra became the Slayer. Then when she died, Faith became the Slayer, so the line runs through Faith, hence why Buffy's second death doesn't activate a new Slayer So constantly killing Buffy and bringing her back wouldn't work, as her first death had already activated a new Slayer and the line has left her
