Spike is the mvp of this episode. Faith deserved the beat down she got. I love how people are quick to forgive Faith for her mountain of terrible behavior but Spike is somehow worse. Spike has Buffy’s back always. He was right to go to Buffy with the info first.

We can also bear in mind that Faith also tried to rape and kill Xander at the same time soul attached. Angel was far worse than Spike as evil vampire, all soulless vampires are evil including Spike, but Spikes actions without his soul given he has no moral framework to work with were far better than any other individual in that Universe with their Soul lacking. While i must point out that an evil version of themselves is still them but with the Demon operating at the forefront same with Angel which is hinted at when Buffy say's in Season 3 "the vampire is nothing like the person before" in which Angel responds "well actually.... Good point" thus acknowledging it is somewhat themselves but without morality tying them down.

I understand you like Spike but him sucker punching her for voicing her opinion is just not right. I don't think anyone deserves to be sucker punched.

@@BigTimeKnights that's not for voicing and opinion. He saw that they kicked B out while he was away and when he started defending her Faith told him to sh*t up and at that point that was a matter of minutes before the fight started. If he didn't do it she would 10 seconds later. I also believe that the plot wanted to show that despite some interaction between them earlier when B was jealous, there is a history with Faith and her ex-boyfriends, there is no reason to be jealous in case with Spike.

@@JuneJaneb4 I don't think it's fair to say Faith would've struck him first. I don't know how much of Angel you have seen but she has definitely changed for the better. In the past I would agree with you but even still, she's not the one who created this hostility. Spike was getting out of control with everyone in the kitchen and Faith was standing up for all of them. Standing up and saying "shut up" should not lead to getting cold-cocked. I really hope people are not acting like this in real life, because this is how people die, or get into gun fights. I've seen things escalate. I believe there was supposed to be a Faith spin-off with Spike in it as a main character. Have not looked into this that much, but there definitely was some chemistry between them. I appreciate your comment.

The thing about calling Buffy “the one” is that she’s not. _Faith_ is the true Slayer. Buffy is an anomaly. This was confirmed by Giles when Kendra came to Sunnydale. Faith is such a badass. And was brutally efficient and competent fighter on Angel. I hate they have to significantly nerf her so that Buffy can take the spotlight.

Spike was 100% right in this episode you can forgive Faith so quickly even though she had a soul when she did all she did but not Spike even though he didnt? A little bias because you think she is hot?

People are so quick to forgive Spike. Let me guess, because they think he is hot?

@katra777 actually no, people are quicker to forgive Angel and Faith and Willow yet more harsh on Spike, he has to do so much more to redeem himself to get people to still not fully forgive him. I am sure there is bias with everyone who watches the show, just trying to make people aware of their own hypocrisy and bias. I find faith just as hot as spike and love both of them as characters, in fact they are both my top favorites of the show. I forgive Faith also, I just pointing out how some people seem to forgive some characters for a lot less then others. Sorry if revealing hypocrisy is upsetting to you.

I hope people realize I love this show and almost all the characters in it. I like Spike and am happy he has joined Angel as a regular. As for this particular episode, I have a disdain for people who sucker punch others and it leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Faith got sucker punched by Buffy in a recent episode and now Spike. It's just annoying especially when she's just trying to change her ways and help. I also felt bad for Spike every time Riley suckered him when Spike had the chip and could not fight back. It reminds me of the new-gen prank videos where pedestrians get suckered on the sidewalk. Hate it. I might criticize Buffy a lot but she's still my favorite character followed by Angel even though I enjoy Angel's show more. I just enjoy darker stories. Anyways, I appreciate all the criticisms.

Because Spike is a complex character and while he was mostly portrayed as a bad guy he was charming and often more human, being able to experience emotions and feelings often greater than many of them, including Buffy. At some point she started to seem like a robot to me, that mainly has only one mission - slay vamps and kill demons. And I have nothing against Faith in this episode. Even though Spike and she had a fight. She can still keep doing her thing, she is also a slayer but she was always different from B and they have some history so no wonder they don't get along. Spike will take care of B, that's fine with me.

@@BigTimeKnights I want to say that it's not a surprise actually that it's hard for some people to forget what happened in s6 and be completely open to Spike and their love story right after that. But it's only writers f fault that they allowed such a thing to happen in s6 at the same time they understood that they would write a romantic story for them right after that. But in their twisted minds everything was okay. Another reason why I wouldn't have chosen this option for Season 6 if eventually I wanted to write a love story, I would have found something else or changed it somehow. But is people forgave other characters for what they did, the same should apply to Spike.
