Warren - resentful mysoginy and banality. Glory - high camp Diva. Adam - technological and precise. The Mayor - folksy and old-fashioned (I'm sure he was inspired by David Lynch) . Oh, my name will be on everyone's lips, assuming their lips haven't been torn off. But not just yet. That's all right, though...I can be patient. Everything is well within parameters. She's exactly where I want her to be. And so are you, Number 17. You're right where you belong. So, what'd you think? You'd get your soul back, and everything'd be jim-dandy? A soul's slippier than a greased weasel! Why do you think I sold mine? [chuckles] Well, you probably thought that you'd be your own man, and I respect that. But you... You'll always be mine. You'll always be in the dark with me, singing our little song. You like our little songs, don't you? You've always liked them, right from the beginning. And that's where we're going... right back to the beginning! Not the Bang, Not the Word. The true beginning. The next few months are going to be quite a ride, and I think we're all going to learn something about ourselves in the process. You'll learn you're a pathetic schmuck, if it hasn't sunk in already. First of all, many thanks to the actors who once again made themselves available for this sequence, especially to Mark Metcalf and George Hertzberg, who went through the complete makeup procedure again. Then this sequence is the perfect reintroduction of the First Evil. It takes the form of all the main villains to date to show that it's not just another villain, it's the very concept of evil itself - then it takes the form of Buffy to say: now it's getting personal for the big showdown.

Angel appeared later in this season to give Buffy the amulet that Spike uses in the final battle, so sorry but I'm not buying the whole "obviously they could not get him" sentiment, they could have if they wanted to be for some reason chose not to, If I had to guess it was probably because this scene involved spike and Drussilla had more of a connection with him.

I still think it's possible that David Boreanaz simply wasn't available for filming. He had his own show to film, and maybe he had other things going on in his life as well. The first said all the parameters are in line, also said quite a ride. The plan of The First started in the opening of season 6, when Willow returned Buffy to the living world, she returned, but in a new way. This bug of the system, allowed The First to discover who are the next slayers in the line, or the potentials, in that way, while Buffy was struggling with the dark times of adulthood, The First was hunting in terminator mode with the potentials. We don't know how many potentials The First already ended by that months mentioned by The Master. That means by the beginning of season 7, the damage of slayer line was already made. This explained that Buffy and Faith were the last ones in the plan of The First, all the potentials must be gone at that time. When Buffy did the spell at Chosen, we don't know how many slayers were, because we forgot that The First already busted a lot of them, also there is another weird sign of this, when Buffy was stabbed, she saw that a few of the new slayers were destroyed by the ubervamps, saddly Amanda was one of them, that explained why The First was careless about the spell of Buffy, this force knew still can win with the turok hans against the slayers. But also the spell changed the plans of The First, now Buffy and Faith don't need to be the last ones on the list, now they can be destroyed as well. Maybe this is also something that we don't know, but The first did, the spell of Buffy linked her power to the other slayers, but this could be literal, that means if she is falling, the others too

When did we learn that it was Buffy's death that made possible for the First to discover the potential line ?!
@LosMSR8 ай бұрын
@@naimasophie The Eye explained that, basically Willow created a second line when she returned Buffy from grave, that means Faith and Buffy will call a new slayer if both die. The First saw this as a change to get rid the whole line, started with the potentials, then only need to leave Faith and Buffy from the last. Very complex season, according to Joss Whedom the last episode gonna be bigger, but they forgot to ask this to UPN, they aren't working for WB anymore at that time.

This scene is brilliant. Funny thing is that even though all the major villains are dead, Drusilla is still alive technically.
@discardmyfriends3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, The First can only take the form of dead people and vampires are technically dead people lol. Also Buffy since she had died

@@discardmyfriends I meant Dru is the only one who hasn't been vanquished. That's why she's alive technically, get it?

Could have been nice if they added Angelus in this scene. Season 7 is when they finally started having legit crossovers again instead of off-screen meetings like when Buffy and Angel met someplace without us seeing it thanks to WB and UPN rivalry

I think they went with Drusilla as the Season 2 antagonist who showed up here just because she has more of an emotional connection to Spike than Angel has. I mean yeah, it could’ve been scheduling issues, but I’d like to believe it’s because of their history.

Doesnt anybody else apply the eternal yet timely " ITS NOT NOT ABOUT RIGHT,ITS NOT ABOUT WRONG. ITS ABOUT POWER" line and the " the next couple of months will be a bumpy ride" line as a sort of foreshadowing of the politicial- social chaos of 2017 to 2021 plus ? Couple that with the mystical number seven( this is the 7th season opener) which I believe is good or bad. It depends. ...also the SCYTHE during MAY sweeps at seasons end COULD be an allegory for the Akashic Records that evil stole in real life. THE FIRST is of course the Devil... so many hidden theories ....does anybody else see it?

They should have had Dark Willow as S6 big bad. That would have been cool, make the audience think she was bad again.

Willow hadn’t died, so the First couldn’t assume her appearance.

Dark Willow is amazing I love her but Warren was the actual villain (except for the concept of life as an enemy) he killed his ex girlfriend, then tried to kill Buffy many times and then killed Tara causing Willow to switch into dark Willow! He's the prototype of the sociopath and caused so much damage and pain by killing Tara and generating dark Willow and I don't understand why people don't see him as a villain, I get it the villains were life and the plot twist of dark Willow but he represented the human villain you can also find in real life and I'm glad Joss included something like this because these types of people unfortunately exist in real life! And as the user above mentioned Willow wasn't dead although the First had the ability to show up as Buffy (don't know if it's because she died twice lol)....

Spike, Drusilla, and Angelus. But Angel was broadcast on a different network, so they could not use David Boreanaz.

they could have easily used Angel in this sene if they wanted to. I think they chose Drusilla because she was the only villian of that season to stay consistently evil were as both Spike and Angel have been both good and evil at various points in the show
@NewToCool747 жыл бұрын
Not sure what the one guy is talking about but it has to have been a long time since he has actually watched Buffy because OBVIOUSLY they could have used Angel aka Angelus if they wanted to, the whole "different network" thing was BS, I appreciate the vid but you honestly should do a bit of research before attempting to drop some knowledge on us lol, but yea if you actually have watched the entire last season you would know that Angel appears briefly towards the end of it to give Buffy the amulet which Spike ends up using in the end to sacrifice himself, so yes they could have used Angelus if they wanted to be simply chose not to.

Like Cordelia sort of was in S4 of Angel despite it not being her.
@meris84866 жыл бұрын
@@austinpearce5442 I disliked what happened to Cordy in Season 4, some worm monster-infested her, made her say and do horrible eye burning things, like sleeping with Connor, murdering an innocent girl, killing Lilah (one of the best characters) releasing Angelus and giving birth to the big bad. I would have preferred if they left her ascended and instead introduced a new character, cause S4 Cordy goes against everything that Cordelia became.
