It's always amazing how they can mix humor with serious situations in Buffy/Angel. I think there was a time a long time ago, when I was watching episodes for the first time. It was a rerun late at night. I had to do that-- reruns were only on late at night. One of the really funny parts nearly made me fall out of my chair. Almost a real life case of ROTFLOL.

I rewatch a lot of the funniest episodes over and over like Dopplegangland and something blue and still crack up. It’s a lot like Friends to me I can recite the dialogue word for word and still crack up.

This might be the best episode of Season 7, so good. It is the only episode in the entire series not to have Xander at all. They were going to have Xander in it originally, and the dead person he'd see would be Jessie. But there just wasn't enough time to squeeze him in. I love this show, it's my favorite show, but the thing that maybe bugs me the most about it was that Jessie was like Xander's BFF for years but after he dies in the second episode he's never mentioned ever again.

haha yep his name was failwhale. His parents walked into the room to see if he was OK haha. And it's not like he was ever a OTT reactor, his reaction was actually real, and an overreaction because i don't recall him ever being very vocal when reacting.

Yep, Xander wasn't in this one, nor was Anya. This was the only episode Nicholas Brendon didn't appear in, though he was in the credits.

Originally they planned to have Tara come back to talk to Willow, but Amber Benson didn't want to portray Tara as evil, knowing her fanbase would be upset: Instead, they chose to have Cassie speak for ""Tara." Also, Xander doesn't appear in this episode.

I was Dawns age when I first watched this episode alone in my bedroom at night.. I had to switch between the episode and Animal Planet several times to survive the horror 🤣 Dawn was WAY more brave than me during this! 🤭

Conversations With Dead People was a great episode and continues the build up to final. Cassie is of course not real, and plays psychological games by taking on the persona of dead people and getting under the skin of all the living trying to turn them on each other, with Joyce returning as well to appear to Dawn. Willow eventually sees that is not Cassie. The interesting thing about this episode was it was also trying to show how Charlatan Mediums can manipulate the living missing loved ones and pretending to speak to them. Revelations too with Spikes actions, and the the reappearance of the dead Warren, and the death of Jonathan, they along with Joyce, Cassie and Warren all have something in common, as does an episode from S3 you just mentioned. Well done Jay for linking it all together it will all make sense soon, it really is fantastic writing.

The slayer before Buffy was named India Cohen, but I think she only lasted a few months? ...Like 18 months. That was in the comics. Also, Faith is technically The Slayer, since she was activated after Buffy. The Potentials haven't the full power, but they could have been called at anytime. Cassie: You don't want to know what we saw... JPK: ...why bring it up then? 😄😄

TBF, I was given a hint about there being something in S3 that relates to this season. And that was after talking extensively about how confused I was with the manifestations. It was only when I read the episode descriptions from that season that I realised. No way I'd have got it otherwise.
