i'm a Bangel through and through but in this ep. Angel was kinda being unfair to Buffy...when she wanted to break up with him, he wouldn't have it...hwevr in 'Prom' and 'Graduation pt. 2' it was like his decision was final and Buffy couldn't do anything at all...BUT...there was actually an UNSPOKEN agreement bet. the 2 of them that Buffy could jst go to L.A any time she wants and see him...there wasn't a problem at all...jst stupid network issues and s***fy writers...ugh...oh well... #bangel4ever

Angel loves Buffy they are soul mates even Joss calls Angel Romeo and Buffy Juliet so that proves that he love she's more,and when Angel in this scene says that he can't accept what buffy says to him he goes to her and she backs off he stops that's how's Angel had respect for her,what did spike do when he tried to kiss and she asked him to stop he tried raping her that's shows a lot of difference between spike and angel.and all the fans of spike always say that we coz he had no soul blah blah blah he was the same with or with out a soul even Sarah Michelle Gellar thinks so the only difference was that he didn't kill for jot.

@@Marvel_vs_Capcom84 Angel never killed Buffy or tried to violate her, they fought sure but she was always on equal footing & it was comfortable because it was her being the slayer, but that rape scene with Spike was so disturbing to watch because outside of her being the slayer, it was such an intimately violating scene, made worse by how distressed Buffy got by it, which as viewers made us all the more uncomfortable and angry on her behalf. Weird as it is, she was never afraid of Angel even in his worst phases, but that wasn’t the case with Spike. She also never really saw him as her equal, sure she cared about him near the end after having used him as a sex toy to forget her depression and PTSD, but she never fell in love with him because she’s felt the real thing, so anything less was never going to compare. Spike knew that even when he sacrificed himself, that he wasn’t her true love, but he was fine with that, he’s always been fine playing second fiddle, which is kind of sad really. 🤷🏼‍♀️

@@taraz6786 That's your opinion but Angelus killing jenny calendar, attempting to end the world , would have killed Buffy's mom had Buffy and willow not been there to put a spell on the house to keep him out and was willing to kill Buffy in the finale before he got his soul back , while soulless Spike put away his differences to help Buffy to stop Angel and help Buffy many other times without a soul and your gonna let some weak moment where soulless Spike hurt Buffy to bring him down? Really? Do you think a soulless Angel would protect dawn while Buffy was dead?

I think Buffy being a brat was supposed to make her more relatable as a teenage heroine. Didn't work for me; I prefer my examples to be more, well, exemplary. But a lot of her fans love the fact that she's 'flawed' in this way. And just like so many girls like bad boys and the good guys can never understand why; lots of boys like bratty entitled high-maintenance girls and we good girls can never understand why! Both Angel and definitely Spike deserved better treatment than Buffy gave them; but they were too enthralled to care.

CABAHAB but like Angel didn’t have a chance to get the soul for himself. Angel was given his soul so he can’t really be like “nah I sorry I’m gonna return it I want to get one by myself” and when he did lose his soul he was evil and yes Spike was technically evil when he got his soul but he had a chip in his head therefore he had a chance to develop feelings and do things not on the impulse of evil doing. If Angelus got a chip in his head, who knows maybe he might have sought out his own soul. So stop having the double standards
