I have been emailing 5.11 pretty much daily to bring back this line because I need the helmet/shove it AND admin gear sets. But I'm only one voice. You have the followers and viewers. Maybe together we can all get them to bring back one of the best bag lines ever made for pro and every day users!

Nice package, one thing I would recommend is putting your tarp at the top of your pack, or switch it out for a military poncho. You want it where you can get it fast, have lines already attached to the corners and a ridge line right with it, that way if it starts raining you can get a cover up fast to stay dry and do whatever else you want under cover. With a poncho, you can still make an overhead cover, but also if you want to continue walking in the rain it will fit over you and your pack to help keep you dry. If you have to stop and unload your pack to get to your tarp for rain protection everything else will get soaked while you do that. Wet can be deadly depending on other conditions.
@maryspeight28403 жыл бұрын
Good start. Just get out and put stuff to the test , that way you find out what really works and makes it more inline with your specific needs. All the gear in the world is useless without practice and understanding it's and your limitations. Cheers Guy Speight

Did I miss a rain poncho? I keep a cheap one near the top of my bag for easy access that covers me and the pack. I also like to have some drink powder with electrolytes (bonus it can make the water taste better) or one of those gels runners use with electrolytes and some calories. Finally, in the cold weather I’d worry if I have to stay out overnight. I assume you’d be dressed for the weather but you might want to add an emergency bivvy. They are small and light and combined with your tarp could help you make it through a night in the winter. Thanks for sharing your set up.

Really good kit. You have a lot of stuff I have. I would recommend a Fiskars X7 for your bag. It's a compact hatchet that's lightweight and perfect for your bag. Most survival experts agree universally, that the one item to never leave home without is an axe. Trash bag is nice, solar charger?
@Outdoor-Tactics3 жыл бұрын
I've never been huge on axes unless it's a planned trip where I know I'll be using it regularly. They certainly have their place if you would be planning more of a bush-craft trip, as opposed to an emergency situation. Good point though!
@concernedcitizen289811 ай бұрын
What is he going to do with an axe if hes trying to get home. A small saw is more than enough.
@stefanvandermerwe1254 Жыл бұрын
I would have a water bottle and energy bars. Medical kit is small, as I don't want to waste time with scrapes. The Idea is to get home, not camp out. I will rather jog, then walk a longer road, to avoid some unforeseen events. Maybe use a poncho and flashlight, but that's it.

What? No toilet paper or Wet Ones? I suggest you limit yourself to a maximum of 100 feet of survival cord (550 paracord plus fishing line, snare wire and jute fire starter), cut into one 50’ piece and 2 25’pieces. Rig one 25’ piece with four prussic loops made of bank line (see below) as a ridge line and keep a few short scraps as tie downs. Supplement that with a spool or Hanks of #36 bank line (lighter and, most important, less bulky). Even regular 550 paracord is bulky; the bank line, with its ~100 lb. tensile strength, is much more compact.
