20:48 You should print some small medication instructions to put inside the pill container, in case your dog gets separated from you and someone else finds your dog and has to treat it.

My dogs didn't take to the shoes, but they didn't mind the socks! I think it's because they can still feel the ground through the socks... but it does provide a bit of protection from hot pavements when they are playing outdoors.

Some thing else you should consider is a wooden dowel rod & leather man ( put the rod in your dogs mouth to prevent them from biting down). For use: porcupine quills in their mouth, or any kind of dental work.

I've been prepping for years to a point where I don't need anything more, yeah right, and you have one of the best preparedness setups I've ever seen. Very organized and well-thought-out. I hope he watches and gives me feedback I'll let you know. I'm in Canada so I'm prepping for winter and waiting for spring already. I keep a bug out kit for my cat unfortunately I gotta carry it.

But it is a great way to start a new with more knowledge of what works.

This is just a suggestion, that is you keep the dog ID's with you since the other will be on their collar. That way you can reproduce the info and photo easily if you get separated and it helps to establish that it is truly your dog. The first thing that is always asked when trying to reunite pet custodian and pet is, do you have a photo. You may not always have your phone with you in a true emergency or it may not work at all. I have two pups I love dearly too. I can see you are a wonderful pet Mama. Since it appears you are an avid camper and hiker, the Benadryl is excellent to administer to your dog in case of snake bite until you can get to the vet. It also works well for wasp and bee stings as well as it will help counteract the swelling that sets in almost immediately and is very painful for them, especially if it is on the face, and we both know how dogs like to stick their noses into odd places to investigate anything interesting.
@FemPrepper
@FemPrepper 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Marilyn! You're right, the ID should be with me encase we get separated. I prefer my babies not being able to talk back... Lol. Although my GSD won't shut up with the talk back. HaHa. And yes... Coco got stung once... she was not happy. Lol

@@FemPrepper They do have opinions too, don' they? Poor Coco with the sting. It just kills me when mine have a problem or injury. I would rather it happen to me than them. I have one that likes to snap the flying beetles out of the air. They must taste like popcorn, but I'm always afraid she may one day misidentify the bug and get something with a stinger. I can tell your pups are blessed to have such a caring Mama.

Just stumbled across one of your videos, started to watch and liked it, so i took a look into your channel videos and saw this one. It appeals to me because i also have 2 dogs that go everywhere with me. And its good to see another person with the same love for them, like you said, they are my babies! I would add some things: a pair of tweezers (thorns, ticks,etc), a small bottle of physiological saline solution ( washing something out of an eye, clean wound, etc), a spare set of what ever you use for repeling and treating external and internal parasites ( pills, colars, drops, whatever...), some kind of nail clipper, i saw the file, its good, but not enough, and that small scisor isnt going to make it. I've been 2 months with my dogs living on just a dirt ground, and the nails over grow a bit more than if i were on the city doing concrete or similar. And/or if they split a nail, its easier to cut it than to file it all the way. But be aware of the center of the nail, where it starts to have blood, dont go to far! And carry something to brush their hair ( yes, i know, dog hair os the new black!), It helps shed the old hair and keep it clean, if for some reason they couldnt take a bath, and its relaxing to brush dogs hair, for them and for us 😉😁. Thats all i remember for now, i feel your love for dogs, that love made me took a course of veterinary nursing just to better take care of mine! Subscribed to your channel to watch some more videos! Cheers from Portugal!

These bags are amazing! I have a Chihuahua and I don't think she can carry much so I think I'm going to end up having to carry her bug out bag when I get it made up. But she's little so I guess it's not such a big deal to carry her mini sized gear. I've been debating on getting a carrier for if there's a time where her legs get tired trying to keep up.
@FemPrepper
@FemPrepper 5 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I've changed a few things out as we have used the bags more. It's really about what your pet needs are. Luckily your dog is small and doesn't require the same volume and weight as mine. Some form of a carrier is smart if you have a lot of ground to cover. One of my dogs is older too, so I worry about that..

Fem, an excellent video however i have 2 suggestions. If your dogs are used to people food you should have them tote more of that. In a pinch of will be easier for you to eat their food in an emergency. You don't want to starve them but dogs can find and happily eat bugs, worms and all manner of things that humans won't unless we are truly desperate. Also, you should put a basic mini kit for yourself in each of their bags (i.e. Knife, Fire Starter, Cordage, Mylar bivvy, water tabs, clips for your nine, and/or 5.56). Ammo aside, That's not much weight for a big dog. Get separated from your packs but not your dogs and you are still ok. Or as an alternate to your standard ammo, stash a .22 breakdown rifle and 100 rounds of .22. Then if you get separated from everything but your duds and your dogs, you're still ok.

I have found some things useful and others I can go without. Some items in their packs are useful for all of us and I am now working on switching them to regular food diet, it's actually much healthier for them if we make it at home, and then you are right we can share and my dogs are great hunters and you are right, my dog will hunt and eat anything small that moves if I let them. I actually agree... I have been starting to switch my dogs on to natural/raw food in the past few months. I am updating our packs all the time... the only reason I think it is wiser to put easy to feed food is because we will not always have the option to hunt for food in an emergency we may be on the go. This pack was built for a two-3 day hike to a bug out spot if need be. I have plenty of options to switch them over once I get to my BOL. But I completely agree that natural is best...

A dog's immune system. It's 50 × more capable of handling things. Like dirty water. This has been a proven fact. Just look at wild dogs in the wild. That live long lives. Wolves coyotes foxes. And exedra. (. This is not for the dog. This is for your ) as well dog can eat dead things that people could never. And not get sick. 2 now as far as food goes. Two days worth of food for. That's great. But don't carry the yellow pouches. Instead swap it out for olive. Adding the olive oil to the dog food. Will be better for them than the food pouches. Just ask anybody. That is an avid outdoors hiking person. Does long-distance hikes with their dogs they all used oil in the dog. ( Also dogs typically don't go buy calories. A dog's food is based on protein. Read the dog food bag it says anywhere from like 18 up to like 48 or 50 ) the best thing you can do is like olive oil mixed with extremely high protein dog food. You use less food in the long run and the dog will be fine. They also don't need a rawhide dog will explain this father. 3.) The wet dog smell you're talking about pertaining to the panchos. Technically is a bad idea. Because that wet dog smell. But you complain about. Is a signal two other predator animals. That there was a dog. Which lets these predator animals know. But they are going to have problems. Did they try to attack the camp. So you're trying to get yourself killed buy wild animals. 3.) You do not want your dog muzzled. For example : if I come into your care with bad intentions and I see dogs with teeth I'm going to think twice. I see your dog muzzled. I'll do whatever I want when I want how and your dog since its muzzled. If it comes at me I'll just stab it and have my way (. Don't be dumb ). What it is important though. It's a dog knows that you're the alpha. And does what you say when you say because you are alpha shtf an untrained undisciplined dog will get Kill either get it trained correctly. Real babies every time every time. ( Or don't take it and get rid them. They will get you killed. 4 and the flashlight you are going to have to be sneaking around I see a flash light bouncing around jawing around at night. I know where you're at. I'm going to take out my long-range 22 caliber shoot the dog with my silenced rifle. And then come for you. Very bad idea. Don't get me wrong I understand you worried about the dogs but based on the way dogs breathe. You put a muzzle on them with that breathing filter. What their intent heart rate when they run. As well as their heavy breathing. That they have to have. When they run. You're going to choke your dog to death. So don't use it unless you want to kill your dog by lack of oxygen. (. I can't stress this enough they are not people ) they are built different than us . 5. ). In an SHTF IF I FIND A DOG RUNNING AROUND IMMA SHOOT IT. BECAUSE I'M GOING TO EAT EAT. IN A REAL LIFE SITUATION. AIN'T NOBODY GOING TO CARE. About trying to contact the owner. It's food. 6.). Oh good I can just wait for you to pick up dog poop. Come up behind you. Would your muzzled dogs. And kill you. Are you trying to make this easy for somebody to get you. Don't worry about. Dog poop. In an shtf. Ain't nobody going to give a bam 7.). Another dog shoes are a good idea. Because of glass and things like that Just be watching your back when you're putting them on the dog and don't muzzle them their teeth. Are going to help protect you forget the socks . Again they are not people. Stop thinking of them like person they're not human. Their claws are going to tear right through t through the socks. Do you want to keep the shoes off of them unless there's like broken. And they need sharp claws. To be able to cut flesh. To protect you and themselves. Because if you come across a pack of coyotes. With them shoes on and the dog is muzzled. Your dogs are easy Pickens. In the coyotes and other wild dogs. Are going to eat your dogs yes coyotes will eat other. In watch dogs start starving because they're running around loose cuz nobody can take them it's survival of the fittest. Look at the bottom of your dog's feet right. Bill the skinny on the paws its course. Dogs are not like. Keep the shoes off them to save your life and theirs. Listen I know this is not pretty. What we talkin about 100% life and death. If your dog becomes. To a point where you have to medically treat it with a spent. That dog had become a liability that can get you kill. Best thing you can do for you and the dog at that time. Is you kill it. Make it quick. For the dog . Shtf nobody's going to give a damn about dog I'd. Oh good so if your dog gets out of the house where in the ID card. I know what address. To come find you. You need to change your way of thinking. The dog bug out bag is good. I have one for my dog but it only needs to 10% of the dogs total body weight. And I true bug out. Your dogs based on what you have said in this video how to become a liability. And you have put them in danger. You have also put yourself in danger. Do you need to re-evaluate the facts of reality. Real shtf it's not pretty. It is considered to be a w o r l - and if you don't know. That means world without rule of law and it's kill or be killed.

Thanks for your feedback. I will for sure take a look at a few of your suggestions because on certain aspects, you are completely right. And I understand that you are coming from the worst SHTF scenario's perspective on your suggestions so if that was the case, you are right about the dog eventually becoming a liability. However, I prep from a different perspective, because not all SHTF Scenarios involve going full Wolverine and Bugging Out Like Red Dawn. And I get that we should also consider that a full blown SHTF scenario as you speak of can also be possible. And if there was such a serious scenario that I needed to ditch some of these items, I will. It is easier to ditch items you don't need than to try to obtain them when SHTF. There are many scenarios, like Earthquakes, Fires and Storms, scenarios which may just cause us to evacuate because of a fire, and be displaced for a period of time, etc. The items in their packs are designed to aid in those types of scenarios. I'm not going to be walking around with my dog in a muzzle with it's mask, shoes on or light on in the middle of the night saying "hey look at me!" Lol. I will pull them out on a need by need basis and if I see I don't need some things, then I will ditch them. I will also add that these items are not just shtf related... this is their hiking rucksack as well, so having the IDs and flashlights to aid the way in the dark while camping. So those items are useful if they get lost hiking or earthquake, fire, etc... But you have given me quite a bit to think about and I agree on a lot of what you said coming from your perspective.

@@FemPrepper I understand their true meaning of SHTF like all hope is lost. But your video I feel is more like hurricane or very damaging earthquake/tornado where you are doing a temporary evaluation. Your video supports plan of coming back home. Their viewpoint is planning to never return home.

@@JazzyArcher30 SHTF means when shit hits the fan. When a situation/phenomenon happens and it causes excessive damage or turmoil to your life or aka a disaster happens. There are many kinds of disasters, fires, earthquakes, Covid-19 and pandemics and sometimes something more common happens, like gas leaks to job loss that can turn your life upside down. In this video I tried to cover basics and a broader range of Preparedness so people can pick and choose items that may be helpful to them and emergencies in their regions. But thank you for your feedback 😊 I'm planning on doing an update to this video with the knowledge we've gained from being on the road the least 3 years.

Please don't ever stitch your dog or yourself in an emergency situation. It's just gonna further risk infection. You're much better off packing wound closure strips or duct tape.
