You Tube randomly showed your video on my feed today in 2023, these are some great ideas! I had purchased small backpacks and collapsible bowls for my dogs for emergencies, but never thought of using their travel crates as a base to clip items onto. Thanks! 🐾🐕🐾🐕

Hi Andy, one thing I add to my dog first aid kit that i find very important is cotton wool to put between the toes if I put a bandage around the foot. Very important so the toes don't get scratched up on each other when the dog still walks. Also good is some padding to put under the flexible blue bandage. I really needed all that when my pitbull girl had a terrible cut on her foot in the middle of the forest due to a broken glass bottle someone left under some leafs. Cheers chris

That's a great idea!

Interesting. One thing you might want to consider in your first aid kit is a tiny 30ml bottle of Iodized Povidone for dog to dog bites and wound irrigation. You just dilute a few drops in a water bottle and stab a hole in the bottle cap to make an effective wound irrigation Kit. using hemostatic agents or clotting powers will encapsulate a dirty wound, especially bites. Also tourniquets have complications. Pressure and isolation/elevation is often the better option.

Choosing a SWAT-T for a dog first aid kit is really good idea. Great attention to detail in this kit. Lots of necessities.
@innerbarkoutdoors4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Our K9 handlers use them in their kits too which put me on to them for that application
@chrisc67584 жыл бұрын
Rats tourniquets might also be an option

Great video. When bugging out without your dog is not an option, there is a wealth of good information and food for thought here. You can use a knee-high stocking as a makeshift muzzle. Tie an overhand knot, slip it over the dog's muzzle, then bring the end around the back of the dog's head below the ears and tie. Not as good as a proper muzzle, but inexpensive, lightweight, and will work in a pinch. Looking forward to more dog-related videos!

Great hacks! Thanks for the comment, I'm for sure going to add more dog related into the channel. Seems like it's a good fit for my subscribers. Thanks for the comment.

Great kit. I can't believe two Jody's disliked your video. Looking up Orion now...
@innerbarkoutdoors4 жыл бұрын
Jive turkeys. Orion looks like it has been dismantled as part of the jackson kayak restructuring. You might be able to find some on the net, but I doubt you will get much support after the purchase. I still love mine tho and will hold onto them.

Very cool set up. What you set up in the saddle bags for a dog harness set up?

The Nite Ize glow collars are also great to have around. Not so tactical, very practical.
@innerbarkoutdoors4 жыл бұрын
Those collars are awesome. The dogs are still running collars I stitched together 5 years ago so I'm hesitant to make the leap

@@innerbarkoutdoors The glow ones are supplemental. No attachments for a lead, at least to ones we have.

How old is zip? Heelers are cool dogs. My father has a rescued heeler and the dog is just awesome.

He turned 10 in December. He's still a puppy at heart but has slowed down a wee bit.

I love the knot videos. I'm always leaving my dog leads in the house when I take the dog to the dog park. So, the challenge is if you have 10 foot of cord .... a carabiner --- lets make a dog lead that would be functional, look stylish, and comfortable for the dog owner.

Where did you get the dog food container? I like the functionality of the bowls and the clip. You have a beautiful ACD, mine is a blue / red heeler mix, about 9 months old - 30lbs. She’s on the smaller side so I may look into one of their smaller kennels. Thanks and looking forward to more dog videos! Take care brother!

I put a link in the description for you :) We love heelers on this channel. Zip was able to turn around in the AD2, but he preferred his sister's AD3 so we swapped it out.

Someone may have asked this, but does that pack add any restriction to the airflow inside the crate?
@innerbarkoutdoors3 жыл бұрын
It does, but you can roll up the sides so that the vents open up. I have them down during highway travel to make it more comfortable for them.
@audrascanlan9003 жыл бұрын
Hi great video but I have to wonder if you have to go on foot what are you going to do? Is there a specific pack that you use that the dogs can carry
@innerbarkoutdoors3 жыл бұрын
The dogs have packs but since they are old they can only carry a little bit before they get worn down.

Great video! Did you look into the Gunner kennels and if so why did you choose this one. I’ve looked at both as well as the impact crates. As a K9 handler I really enjoyed your vid thanks
@innerbarkoutdoors4 жыл бұрын
I have seen the gunner kennels (great kennels!), but the main thing for me was cost. When it comes to safety features this meets the same one(s) as Gunner, BUT it's less expensive, and I like the overall design better. With all the extra components and ability to be utilized INTO a campsite (I have a full review on this kennel on the channel you can check out for more into).
