I have used a Maxpedition Jumbo carry, I use as a EDC so zippers get a bit more use an worn, expected as a EDC. I've replaced twice, never leave home without it.

You can buy pads for carrie on luggage. That willslide over the shoulder straps of a backpack or a rifle sling. It will make it a lot more comfortable. I do have an off topic question. Being were you live how do you defend tou family and your self. If you don't want to answer it I under stand why.

Can't help but picture all the bug out peppers walking in the woods bumping into each other, those that make it that far. Most will be seen as a walking goody bags by the desperate, relieved of their burden while they slept. A few sturdy bags changing hands many times, riddled with holes and stained rusty brown

Have a handy (smallish) bath towel with your pack on hot road marches. It can provide some extra comfort from pack strap chaffing and help wick sweat from your neck/shoulder area.

I almost got this one but ended up getting the falcon II, the pockets are great but i also find myself going more for the ruck style packs with one big compartment, my new "get home bag" is the 5.11 "load ready haul pack" which is also the camping bag, big enough for all my camping shelter and gear and also still has room for my camera and clothing.

I was impressed he mentioned the necessity of a waist belt. Most never do. I'm of the firm opinion that just about any pack meant to carry any weight at all needs a waist belt. Even just a heavily loaded day pack can wear on those shoulder muscles quickly and start causing pain, from headaches to back/shoulder pain, and make the wearer miserable.

You just talked me out of this bag but that's cool, i own the Falcon III but its not big enough for all my gear so i was looking to go bigger but it doesn't look like another liter is going to do me any good. My setup is more of an I.N.C.H bag for my FIII and pretty much all the gear in it is a necessity for my plan of action. my bugout bag is a SnugPak Xocet 35 which is the same size as the FIII but configured differently as my BOB gear is far different from my I.N.C.H gear, but should i need to bugout my plan is to take both of them... i have owned the Snugpak Rocket Pak but its awkward when fully loaded. Any suggestions on a 40-50 liter bag with the same quality as Maxpedition?

An EDC is an Everyday Carry Bag. It’s supplies you might need in the case of an emergency, which can also double as a get home bag minus sleeping gear.

EDC= Every day carry. Get home bag= the things you need to get home, if something happens. I work about 15 miles from my house. So, I keep a get home bag in my car. If my car doesn't work and I need to get home, how can I do it the most efficient way possible? Since I have to dress professional and wear dress shoes, I have a change of clothes, socks and water proof running shoes. I also have water, knife, pancho, etc...I don't have food in it because I am only 15 miles away from home. I can get home in several hours. Now, if I was going to visit someone in another state, I would pack food.

Karen Davenport I live about 3 miles from work, so getting home isn’t my issue, but I do teach kids and I have some emergency supplies to hold my babies till parents can get to them, including the chem lights that can make necklaces in case it also gets dark!

Phill Huddleston I agree on that need. To that I’ve even purchased an air mattress that fits in the back seat to sleep on and other such needs. I’m pretty well stocked for various emergencies including a solar cooker. I even have chem lights and pocket hand warmers when other means aren’t available. I’m still a work in progress as I once felt six months was fine, but now thinking 9-12 months is where I’m going. I kind of feel this CV19 is just a trial run for what I need to survive in SIP or if I have to Bug Out.
