Great work man! I'm only 15 so i'm not capable of getting a bike nor responsible enough, but I do avidly mountain bike and do motorcross in hopes that it will prepare me for riding when i'm older. I want you to know that the preaching you do in dressing for the slide and being prepared for an accident if it happens has greatly changed my views on motorbike safety. Before I began motorcross and mountain biking I took the time to save up for quality gear that would save me in an accident. I recently fell on my mountain while clearing a gap around 10 feet high and I feel that if I hadn't had my helmet and spine protector on I could have sustained serious injurys, but I walked away from the fall with nothing more than a couple of bruises. I want to thank you for bringing great quality content to your viewers and advising safety. Keep up the videos and ride on!

7 years later and this is the best solution out there, still. It absolutely baffles me that there are no aftermarket fold up beds for cargo vans..... Thanks for this video, I'm an over the road driver and often need to sleep in my Transit, I have a tri-fold mattress that i put out on the floor. Your setup would be much better, getting up off the floor is only getting harder lol.

A great way to use the toilet totally odor free, use it compose style. Put a layer of wood shavings a few inches deep in the bottom of the bag, after each use, just cover with a scoop or two of wood shavings and there will be absolutely no odor. Keep a can of wood shavings (cedar dog bed shavings) next to the toilet. When the toilet bag is full, empty into a compost pile to make rich soil for the flower bed.

***** Modification may come with experience, so we'll see. I will make sure to clean the tires off before putti in the van and avoid riding on rainy days of course. What's great about the speaker box carpet is it is resistant to gas, oil, battery acid, bleach and a lot of other crap. It's tough stuff. The clothes may not even touch the bike but like I said we'll see with experience. Thanks for watching!

Good ideas for the fold up bed but no where near strong enough. I would go with aluminum slot tubing for a frame to make it that thin. Lightweight wood stuff likes to warp also, as my first build that eventually went to the dump will attest. Permanent cargo netting under the bed frame would hold a lot more stuff, and I never use chipboard - too much outgassing, use plywood and seal it. Not that you would smell the outgassing with bags of poop all over the place.

Putting the wagon B-4 the Horse here? I built a van in 1995 with all the bells and whistles and used it until 2008. It was all 12 volt electric with 3 speed reversing fan/sun roof.bug screen with side van intake/exhaust. It had a 12 volt 100 psi water pump(40 psi will work for camping, not what I needed it for) I thought you were going to put your motorcycle inside the van? , maybe I misunderstood your intent? Looking good will the motorcycle fit inside with the counter and bed? How are you going to load it? and where will you store the ramp? On the roof? More questions as you post progress. Loving video ,been there done stuff a bit more exotic.

CycleCruza A suggestion, once your project is finished, it could be interesting to know how much the whole thing (including Van) costed you. In relation to what it enables you to do, no doubt this must be a great deal.
@CycleCruza9 жыл бұрын
LoohiD I'll try to tally up the costs when I'm done and do a video on the expenses. The solar set-up( equipments and 2 batteries) is the most expensive at $2k. The bed only cost me about $40, sink cabinet about $100, mostly because of the $80 sink but the sink.

@BeBodacious9 жыл бұрын
Cool set up! The bed caught my eye, but the carpet has thrown me for a loop so I'm glad to know about that too. The spray adhesive Hubby used on the Reflextic was a nightmare. How is yours holding up for the carpet?
@CycleCruza9 жыл бұрын
+Gayle Crabtree The carpet is not really carpet, it's speaker carpet with a rubber backing. It actually insulates the floor and makes it durable. You can literally take a shovel to it and it won't damage the flooring. Also, the flooring is resistant to gas, bleach, battery acid, so it works perfect to carry my motorcycle. It makes cleaning the floor easy. As far as the reflectix, I changed to ad stronger adhesive spray and it worked fine. Btw, I also have 1/2" thick foam insulation under the reflectix.
@BeBodacious9 жыл бұрын
+CycleCruza Thanks for the 411 on the speaker carpet. I want to put a piece over the linoleum floor for winter only. It needs to stay in place for winter and be removed in the spring. Throw rugs slip too much. This sounds ideal. We put the foam under the reflectix also. Another van owner showed me his set up at a truck stop. He only used reflectix and the temperature difference was noticeable.

Good small toilet, but brittle plastic brakes easily so be careful when using. To lighten the weight of the bed drill holes this assists with aeration. I like the solid hardware used to secure the bed. Be mindful of leg wear on the carpet, perhaps rubber capping to soften wear.

I know this might be a little too late for this idea, but maybe if you put a hammock in your cargo van instead of an actual bed, it'll give you much more space to work with. You can easily set it up when you're ready to go to sleep & bring it down when you need the space. CycleCruza
