I've been using Ant for about 8 months now every single day. Tested on pavements, grass, park terrain, airport, restaurant, etc. Yes, I see some flaws especially around folding it. The hand bar do gets jammed bc the weight when we push it with both our hands provides uneven force that affects the mechanics with time. However, what reviews don't seem to mention is that it's the only compact pram that allows a toddler to sit straight up on the chair due to the incline option of the backrest. In the Yoyo toddlers are squashed to the back and have to lean forward to see anything so the back support is not great bc of how the seat does not come all the way up. Also, it has a clasp to regulate the recline while Yoyo has a cheaply made strap. I actually really like my Ant but I do see issues with it so for those looking to buy it I'd say buy it 2nd hand for half the price and see if you like it.

I just want to say that I saw the this review before pulling the trigger to buy my bugaboo ant. As an owner of the donkey and fox I needed something for traveling. I went ahead and bought the ant despite this review as I have the wheel board and doubted that bugaboo would put out something as bad as she made this seem. Now that I own the ant I feel like she’s super pissed off for some unknown reason and gave this such a bad undeserved review. Go try out this stroller in person if you can. I will say though, my 18 month old and 3.5 year old fit very comfortably. I don’t see this fitting my daughter after age 4/5 but I have a wheel board so this stroller is steel worth it. Much better quality then the yoyo. See the ant in person if you can.

UPDATE: My daughter just turned 4 and still fits comfortably. This review is such a shame. It's an amazing stroller and has replaced all of my other strollers that I would typically take to the store, appointments, etc. In my opinion your kid will last in this stroller as long as they would an umbrella stroller if not longer. Also, this stroller is perfect with the wheel board. I stand by my statement that you should see it in person then make up your mind. This review is completely over exaggerated and parents are missing out!!!! -pissed off mom of 2

I like my ant. As someone who goes to nyc often, this works in a metropolitan area. However, if you have tall children, I don’t recommend it. Yo-yo+ was nice but it kept getting dirty so that was annoying. I really like that I can just push this like a suitcase. I can attach my daughter’s carseat(big convertible car seat) to the stroller and push it. If you’re not a single mother with multiple children, then no I guess you wouldn’t understand the convenience.

2nd EDIT: it completely broke in multiple places, unusable after a year. Even after buying replacement parts the frame kept breaking. The stores stopped selling it because they received so many returns. This should be a class action lawsuit EDIT: I ended up buying and loving the Ant. I haven’t had any of these problems posted in the video. This is the best compact stroller on the market. -original post-~~Wow. Great review. I was just about to buy the ant based on all the baby blog videos none of which mention any of these issues. Now I’m not surprised why none of the review videos show the Ant with an actual baby in it.~~-

@@arushsehgal9434 I've had this stroller for years, taken it on 50-ish flights, had it checked as luggage without a cover, and it still works beautifully tbh. There may be a quality check issue that occurred somewhere, but I've had a phenomenal experience with it! Have a second baby I'll be using it for as well though my super tall 2.5 year old still fits it and LOVES riding in it. Honestly I'm obsessed but I'm sorry about your experience, though a class action lawsuit is a bit dramatic. Stores stopped carrying it because they just stopped making it lol

I have bogaboo fox and it absolutely amazingly comfortable for the baby. However, now that my baby is 18m old, it has the same issue with the canopy. It is too low and he almost does not fit under it anymore.

Although it's a very convenient stroller for the city, it needs 5-6 moves to close or open, so if you have to do it 4-5 times a day, this process ruins your day.

Thanks for a very honest review! I also debated between the Yoyo and the Ant for my now 3mo. I just received the Ant. I havent had time to test it for travel yet but will within the next month. I agree with you about wanting to carry the _travel_ stroller such as you can with the Yoyo and I agree that it is not so easy to fold. But nevertheless I opted for the Ant bc of the possibility to face my child. She is still so small so for me that is such a valuable feature at the coming period when she can sit but is still tiny. When she is older I realize I might have to switch. About the quality I am happy with it - it is supersmooth!! Mostly agree with you though. Much on point!

I would’ve done more research on a stroller with that price point, if you knew you wanted a stroller that could be put over the shoulder than don’t buy one that doesn’t have it. Also this is why places do stroller demos with customers so these things don’t happen! I’m not going to lie at first I hated the ant bc at the store I work at our floor model is used 24/7 so the fold was annoying until I realized I wasn’t doing it correct now that I learned how to properly use the ant I love it! Sold my uppababy minu bc the seat was for sure flimsy and not sturdy like the ant! I love that the ant Can forward face and face the parent! I will put my two year facing me when I know she will nap so I can fully recline her, plus I love seeing my baby sleep so facing me on a travel stroller is such a plus!

This is a great review!!!!! I was so set on getting the ant from all the “shop” review videos. But yours is much better and honest review with actually showing the kids in the stroller. I think I am gonna go with the Yo-yo now !!
@FNorth815 жыл бұрын
Your review is somewhat honest to an extent. The handles do stay down when you push them down in folding position, you were rushing it and at one point I noticed one side did click in. You can carry it over your shoulder with the bag you can buy. Strollers aren't generally made to carry like a bag and Bugaboo haven't tried to sell the Ant as such. I'm agreeing with most of what you've said but if you are going to advertise the video as honest, I think you should at least tell the full story.

So great to finally get an honest review. I was in a local baby store about to purchase one and they had an issue folding it in the store. Alarm bell 1. The handle was so flimsy and had no support Alarm bell 2. My small 2 year old only just fit in it. Alarm bell 3. Nope I'm out. Didn't end up purchasing it. I love bugaboo but this is definitely not up to bugaboo standards.

Maybe I am missing something. But can’t you adjust height on the backrest of the ant ? Bugaboo video suggests you can. And also states it can accommodate taller children than the yo-yo. So something is not right..
@maryc44635 жыл бұрын
The only way the height is adjusted is when unfolding it into position. When compared to the yoyo they say that has a taler height than yoyo but it is an illusion because the yoyos seat level is actually lower than the ant so even tho the back height is higher, the overall height is less than the yoyo. And there's nowhere where it suggests you can adjust the hood height. It's only the extention of the backrest when you open it up.

Hi!! Loved your review. Lots of useful things to know!! I had the baby zen yoyo for almost 2 yeArs and I didn’t like it. I’m not saying the ant is better. I have the Fox and the bee5 from bugaboo and I love them. Also had the cameleon and the uppababy vista. Regarding the yoyo I didn’t like the fold (also two hands fold) the recline is complicated, always had a hard time with that. And most important my 3 year old didn’t liked it. I hated the fact that a had to carry the yoyo in the airport it was so heavy!! I’m already traveling with my toddler + my 14 month old plus carry on and diaper bag. Why would i WANT TO CARRY A STROLLER??? So for me when i saw it was like a suitcase i was super excited!!!! So i guess its just about preferences. I do agree with you in the fact that you relate bugaboo + quality and the handle bar looks super cheap!!
@jingyun43235 жыл бұрын
I have the yo-yo too. I thought the recline was difficult until I figured out how. There's a little tab on the recline stopper and that will lower the chair quickly. I struggled with it too. Why did you have to carry your own? The yo-yo is designed to fit in the overhead compartments, and I pretty much wheeled my yo-yo right up to the aircraft door then folded it. I actually love my yo-yo more than my "primary" which is the vista. Do you find that the spacing between the seat and the bar for the aNT is odd?

I think you should learn to fold it properly before posting your opinion... you put the brake on, fold the hood and slide the Seat down, then you only use the button on one side - not both... and pull the handle towards you. Its super easy, and im kind of anoyed that you made an effort to make it look clumsy and difficult. And as for the idea of the carry on «suitcase» function is so that you dont carry a child, your bag and the pram.. you can buy a carrystrap, and you can buy an ekstra footrest. Think twice next time before posting a videoreview of something you obviously know so little about...
