I think theres two options for how buggy can separate when being cut. 1. Its part of the fruits power. It just automatically separates when a blade is coming regardless of haki or the users awareness 2. He was forced to train while on Roger's crew. But buggys such a coward all he focused on was not getting cut but since it was training from Raleigh and Roger that made him insanely good at it

The power is being able to reatach any cut, so evento if haki is used he can just come back together. He can evento fly freely holding his own feets . is a pretty great power. I wanna say bullet shouldnt hurt him neither cause un impel down he was unhurt by the needle hell and that was more piercing damage than cutting

That is like logias... they are inmune to blunt and cutting attacks and they can put their body together ( except Yami Yami) but you use haki... and they can't

Honestly if buggy awakened his fruit he could honestly be one of the most powerful pirates. I always liked to imagine that, if he were to train, Buggy could have the capabilities of a special paramecia like Katakuri. Like, if he were to train with observation, he'd be able to even negate blunt attacks by seperating only specific parts of his body to make them harmlessy fly off when hit due to the lack of resistance behind it.

I'd love to Buggy become a serious powerful character. He could do things like detaching his arm into thin thin slices, cover them in armament haki and send them around like circular blades. And with observation haki he would be able to avoid any type of damage by separating away the part of the body that would get hit. The Bara Bara no mi could be at a serious power level

Oh my god, I just thought of an explanation for the clothes: Awakening. All devil fruit users use a weak version of Awakening and effects the clothes around them, but only a few can do it to a huge degree! This would explain so much without a dumb excuse.

I think the most advanced utilisation of the Bara Bara no Mi would be something like Davie Jones' locker + RoboCop. Keep his abdomen locked away somewhere dank and secure, where all of the vital organs *sans the brain* are well out of harm's way, keep oxygen pumping straight into the lungs and leave his stomach and ding-dong well regulated. Just pop his head, hands and feet on a mech body and he'll run amok. Maybe think of Franky or Evangelion/Pacific Rim in combat. Except from there Buggy's quite literally *throwing* punches and kicks.

I think buggy is immune to Haki because Haki only allows someone to hit a persons real body. And considering his whole body is capable of splitting apart, whenever a sword hits him it just instinctively splits apart. So he’s completely immune to slicing attacks regardless of haki

I thought about this for a whole of 2 seconds and an awakened bara bara would be super op... like being able to disassemble the environment and control it at will. attack wise you could throw any object at anyone. and just utility wise you couldnt be stopped like you could create walls to block the opponent and etc... just imagine chasing someone through a house that the layout keeps changing or etc.
