This has quickly become what I consider to be one of the top 5 bug hunter songs I've listened to. With safe word, creature of habit, toddler with a slingshot (hell yep), and be glad I love you. It has that kinda warm hug feeling and I love it
@hetakey2272 жыл бұрын
Some little bits for why it's a hug. It says 'no one focuses on why I'm here, they just see that I'm here.' This could be for any reason, but it just hits home. The immature ways of dealing with problems, it's your little coping skills you use to cope with the problems. It's so open to interpretation, from literal to metaphorical, and its just a really good song! 10/10 love it

I always thought pinecones were really cool because of the way they launch their seeds when they impact the ground, and now (after watching this video), I think, "I'm just a stressed-out Christmas ornament that needs some space to breathe." A lot of your songs really really resonate with me, but this one is just too perfect. *RANT WARNING*: (do not read with the expectations of a short comment) The part at the end (3:48) hit me with a sudden wave of nostalgia that made me tear up because I used to have this one tree in the middle of these dense woods that were near my house that was special to me and helped me in a way no person ever could. I was the only person who knew about it because it was deep in the woods and I knew the best way to climb it. I never showed it or talked about it to anyone. I never damaged it beyond a few twigs and leaves (and that one branch I snapped when I fell that one time) and it never damaged me (except for a scar on my left arm in exchange for breaking that one branch when I fell). When I was going through a really tough time in every aspect of life I just climbed so high that the wind would blow me around like a leaf and I hugged the trunk as hard as possible and cried. The best part about having your best friend be a tree (which I just now realized sounds really depressing) is that it doesn't tell you to do better than you already are, it doesn't try to give you incentive to do something, it doesn't require an awkward introduction, it doesn't need you to change, it doesn't challenge your beliefs or identity, it doesn't drag you off to prom or parties or dances, it doesn't argue, it doesn't punch you in the face for talking to it, it doesn't push you down the stairwell and kick your ribcage, it doesn't replace the showerhead feed in the locker room with bleach, it doesn't slowly pull away because it's being bullied for being associated with you. All it needs is just a few lanternflies to be smashed occasionally and it gives you a priceless intrinsically motivated emotional attachment. TLDR: My best friend was a tree which made the end part (3:48) hit different. TLDRTLDR: Me have tree friend TLDRTLDRTLDR: I has tree fren EDIT: I compacted this down a bunch by removing some unnecessary details
