Couple of things I love about this song: 1. That it shows how talented these men are, and 2. How each of them is playing a different part than they comely sing.

I forgot to say before this is the best ending ever :D I love how they end a trumpet trio like a barbershop quartet :D Brilliant guys :D

What a tag! As a trumpeter and former barbershopper I dig this whole heartedly.

On a deep, deep level, I need to see a quartet do this with bass on trombone, bari on mellophone, and tenor on piccolo trumpet.

well.. that was definitely different.. Lots of fun. Used to love playing this in college.

These guys are great! I got to see them live in Traverse City, Michigan in June of 2009 on the Cherry Capitol Chorus' show! They were even funnier at the afterglow!

How can 2 people dislike this? Maybe the 2 dislikers are brass band afficionados . . . who can sing as well as Storm Front. But I doubt it!

@molybdnum Actually, Jeff played trombone for a long time; he just hadn't played for about 15 years prior to the quartet picking up the song...

How did these guys first get together? Were they trumpet players first or singers? The odds are just too great that world class barbershop singers would just coincidentally be expert trumpeters as well.
@BardOfXiix12 жыл бұрын
To me, it looks like the baritone--the guy 2nd from the right. If I had to give them chairs just from the video, I'd say 1st char is the furthest right trumpet, then 2nd is all the way on the left, leaving 3rd chair in the middle.

surely im not the only one that noticed like 7 different tempo changes in there, not big ones either. one was like somewhere around, just a guess here, say... 5 bpm. not sure why, but the trombone sounded like it had something to do with it
@cc144516 жыл бұрын
ok you go find a quartet that can just whip out a song like bugler's holiday on the horns. you won't. besides their sound and technique on the horns is really good.

Proof positive that you can turn even the most questionable singers into true musicians. (Smiliey deleted. If you can't tell this is sarcasm, you need to get a new sarcasm detector. I suggest you buy it with the proceeds after selling your computer.) Well done, lads.

Y'know, if they sucked at barbershop, or if they sucked at brass instruments, it would make sense. Problem is, they don't suck at either.

Interesting approach to this. Being a former BS singer and a trombonist, the part for the trombone stinks. This is not a comment on the execution,but the arrangement.
@simonlutgens4 жыл бұрын
Why are all the comments so positive? The double tonguing was great but their tones were ugly af and the trombone can't play for shit
@molybdnum14 жыл бұрын
pretty obvious which one of them didn't already know the instrument. ( hint- trombone. :p )

You want to know why I clicked on dislike? They are playing it too fast for their tonguing ability.
