@@klaspeppar5619 no the Beetle came before Ferdinand Porsche founded Porsche He created the Beetle as the People’s Car but it was made during Nazi Germany and after the WWII he was arrested and sent to prison for helping out the Nazi Party Soon he was released and he then founded Porsche with his family it’s a good thing you don’t see Swastikas around on a daily basis

This video honestly put a smile on my face for multiple reasons. It has an absolutely beautiful beetle which I've personally been looking into purchasing as a weekend car but on top of that I go to this filming location multiple times a year. In fact where you parked the beetle for the still shots I was just there in that exact spot 3 days ago. I've personally took pictures of my mazdaspeed 3 there myself. It's just crazy how small the world can seem sometimes. I know you used to be a VA local but its just neat to know you were back "in town" and I could have bumped into you by complete accident while filming this video lol. Anyway great video and maybe one day I'll see you around here one day.

You won’t regret buying a classic beetle (even leaving it with the stock aircooled motor). I bought a ‘66 last year to flip and fell in love with mine... gets more attention than any supercar, and put smiles on everyone’s face as toy drive past

My mom had one of these back in the late 60s early 70s, and it was so loud that the local dairy queen would be able to hear her coming from a mile away and have a large dr pepper sitting on the counter waiting for her by the time she got there. Someday I WILL have one of these cars and love it😁

When I was a young boy in the 1980s I heard of hopped up Volkswagen beetle pull away. I fell in love with that sound and didn't understand or know what it was. What I mean was it was a boxer engine later in life I purchased a Subaru legacy 98 wagon. It has a 2.2 l 5 speed manual. I cut the exhaust and had an exhaust shop remove the resonator and put a glass pack on it when I heard the sound of it I realized hey this is the same kind of engine that I remember when I was a kid. I didn't know much about Subaru at the time when the car was purchased 2015 but I fell in love with that box or sound because it was a sound that I fell in love with as a boy hearing that Volkswagen beetle pull out with custom exhaust.

Unless you have a ‘71 or newer, or change to a ‘71 or newer (IRS) transaxle. You’re right, you can’t avoid the excessive chamber with the older swing axle transmissions (I personally like that look)

I think the beetle or the bug is the best car ever made. I use to go to a lot of bugouts in Manassas Virginia and they are just timeless with a 1776 or 1835 or 2110 and a Gean Berg shifter with dual Weber carburetors it’s nothing like it or now people are putting boxer engine engines in them which ironically has a similar sound, either way the are beautiful cars. If I had to pick one for a lifetime that would be it, maybe not quit as low as that!

So I am, and have always been, a diehard Honda guy...I grew up in Tampa, Florida in the late 90s, early 00s, and my first few cars (I am 37 now and I've owned 65 cars since I was 14), were all domestics, but in 99 Hondas were really becoming famous and I had a really heavy jacked up 94 Eddie Bauer Ford Exploder on 33x12.50s with a Skyjacker 6" suspension and 3" body lift. I moved here to Pittsburgh and was here for about 2 months before I traded it to a friend for a bone stock DA9 1992 Acura Integra. The next year the first FnF came out and I was dead set of modifying my Integra. I gathered parts for a turbo kit and it was almost like pulling teeth between having a job that paid $5.50 an hour, having to pay rent living at a family member's house, and smoking weed all the time, but I eventually got it turbocharged and on 12 psi on an old Dodge Daytona T3 turbo (that was seized when I bought it for $50, but freed up after sitting in WD-40 overnight), and it eventually made 257 whp on a stock B18A1, YS1 5 speed manual cable trans, tuned on a Zdyne Gold SECU. It was alot of fun to drive and it was fast, but now I have a 612 whp EJ8 Civic coupe and a JDM J32A and six speed manual swapped CG1 Accord with a GT35R turbo and it's making close to 450 whp...so I suppose that was the beginning of my love affair with Hondas...

My dad said the old beetles were air tight and will float. Him and his friend crashed one in a farm feild rolled down a bank and landed in the water upright and continued to float down river until the farmer could tow them in to land and the bug drove home bent roof and all. My dad and his friends also rolled a vw bus on a big curve in grand bend ontario canada in the 60s

Lol wild it keeps catching fire. My Grandpy who was a british racing mechanic said its extremely common to the point they called it Hitlers revenge because the fuel lines are ran too close to the engine and need to be rerouted to fix this. Some bugs even had gas heaters.

About your comment, that you can't imagine driving a bug on the Autobahn, the Autobahn is just a high way as in every other country. Of course nearly everyone enjoys going fast every once in a while. However on many routes there are speed restrictions and there is also the recommended top speed of 130 km/h (80 mph). What that means is, if you crash going faster than 130 km/h they will investigate if this extra speed made the outcome of the crash worse and take actions against you. The reasoning behind this is that you have to make sure that you can go fast in this situation. However what I actually want to say is, that you can drive with a bug on the Autobahn, because not everyone drives 120 mph. Most of the people drive between 120 km/h (75 mph) to 180 km/h (110 mph) and trucks and lorrys can't go faster than 80 km/h (50 mph). Also back in the day, when the bug was used a lot the overall speed on the Autobahn wasn't as high as today and there were less cars on the Autobahn. One last thing is that people also drive with the Trabant on the Autobahn and it works. I hope this gave you a little bit of information about the Autobahn and the driving in Germany. Kindest regards from Germany ^^
