This is a quick video to show how I removed the factory Bose amp in this Enclave that was damaged from a water leak. I think this is a common thing on these vehicles. This is in no way the expert way but it worked for me.

Hi... my amp blows and had no sound on my enclave speakers, my question is when I need to get replaced do I need to get configured from Dealer..??? They sale some fron Ebay and they provide the Vin# from the SUV that was supposed they removed from, what is this for.. that I need the Vin# or just swap the amp, any advice will be appreciated, thanks.

As long as it's from the same make and compatible years of your vehicle you should be good to go. If you remove your amp first to make sure the one you order looks exactly the same that would be helpful.

Factory Manual says to remove the parking break. to access the back mounting screws. Also the correct socket to use is a 7mm Loosening the brake cable helps as one of the nuts that retain the parking break assembly is obstructed by the parking break pawl.

I'm sure the way you recommend doing it or going by the manual is technically the correct way. I just showed a way to get it done and by no means would I say it's the correct way. I appreciate your input.

Question for you: Does the tool you bought from Harbor Freight make that last bolt “easy” to take out or is it still a pain in the ass? Just wondering how long it took you to get that last bolt once you had the special tool. Thanks for a great video!
@thumpy6622 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late response but yes the tool did make it easier. It might have taken 30 mins. top to take it out and thats because it was my first time.
@stevedail12 жыл бұрын
@@thumpy662 No problem! Yes, since I wrote you I used that same tool to remove the amp. Yep, took me about 30 min total, most of which being that top difficult screw. Just like you said, you need a deep socket or a 1” extension. I ended up sending the amp to a repair service on EBay. I drilled about 10 holes on the bottom side of the casing so that if water continues to get in, it won’t “pool” and wreck the board again. Thank you again for your help!!
@gustafsonlarsk2 жыл бұрын
@@stevedail1 did drilling the holes in the bottom work?
@stevedail12 жыл бұрын
@@gustafsonlarsk I believe so. The reason I’m not certain is that the amp stopped working a couple months after installing it, but then I found that when the EBay refurbisher fixed the amp they accidentally crushed a tiny power feed wire. It broke but after I reconnected it, the amp worked again. So, I believe drilling the holes was a good thing but I don’t think any water has gotten in there to test that idea. What I do think worked was caulking the heck out of the windshield area where another KZbin video told me to seal up. Lastly, the amp refurbisher guy was certain that “plugged drain holes” was the culprit. After looking at both drain holes in the sunroof track and running water through them, the area where the amp is mounted stayed bone dry still. So, I think the caulking is what is doing the trick for me. But, I would drill those holes as a backup since it’s easy to do and will ensure not large puddling inside the amp will occur. Hope this helps, sorry to ramble on…

I am replacing my 2015 Buick Enclave Amp. Appreciate the video but only thing I got from your video was the bolts are 9/32. 2 of the bolts you can use the small hand ratchet but the side both you need a 1/4 breaker bar and then a box end wrench. You should of disconnected your battery first thing, then disconnect your ECU cables and remove the box to make room for your hand. The hardest screw I used my finger ratchet but was very hard to get my arm and hand up there. Then something you left out was how to remove the 3 amp plugs. You have no room to work and there is little to no slack in the hardness. I came back top your video to see what you did and you said nothing. I guess I got to figure that out myself. To bed you didn't tell more what you did to help others but at least you posted a you tube video.

I'm glad you did get something out of the video. Did you not see me reconnect the battery at the end of the video? Disconnecting the battery was the first thing I did. I'm really glad you and other viewers like yourself could walk away with something to help you along the way.
