Thanks don. Which trim are you interested in? I will be pulling of the wheel moldings the front and back glass trim due to the age of the car and my lack of skill I’m having the painter do for me.

Hi Eluder, thanks for the video. I bought an 87 GN. Went under the hood and noticed that the EGR delete was half done. The EGR is still on but the vac lines were removed and bypassed and the EGR Solonoid box was removed. (Where the EGR lines run to from the EGR.) The EGR nipple at the top that faces the firewall has no hose on it. (Vacuum lines were removed like in your video). Is this causing a vacuum leak or is that an intake? Also is the gasket holding up? Did you have any issues with leakage from the EGR? I ordered the same setup.

As a rule of thumb anything that doesn’t have a vacuum Line on it must be capped off. I tried to be very specific on what lines are left and what can be removed, thrown away. As far as the gasket you have to be careful if you use the thicker gasket you can have issues both a vacuum leak and boost leak. So when you get the gasket get the thin version. Felpro makes a thin version.

Thanks Eluder. I ordered the exact same fel pro with part number. As far as the EGR, looks like someone bypassed but didn’t remove EGR and left the right top nipple for the vac line open.

did it seem to effect your spark timing ...we used to block them off on new cars (chevys) when they were new as they ran so poorly ..Then after the motor broke in it would spark knock without the egr so we unplugged it ... I always set timing with my ear and a prybar ...not a timing light

great question's!!! as far as timing or spark knock no there is no issues these cars have knock sensors which detect spark knock and the computer pulls timing to eliminate that knock. but the EGR system has no effect on this if anything it will lesson knock because we are removing the recycled gas. as far a a carb plate grand nationals are fuel injected so no carburetors and no plates of any kind under the upper plenum. thanks for the great question.

How about the EGR "Plate" under the carb ...Get rid of that too ..Ive seen them really corroded from exhaust going thru them ..

What are the benefits for deleting the EGR valve? How does it improve performance?

The EGR recirculates exhaust back thru the intake to reburn it and reduce emissions. Those exhaust gases are hot heat kills HP so by mixing hot exhaust gases with cool fresh air forced in by the turbo you are raising intake air temps which ultimately lower hp. There are many other factors this is a basic run down.

I recently just put a ls1 maf sensor on my car and translator. Car idles but when I give it gas it dies. Do you know what the problem could be

start with the basics make sure fuel filter is changed, from there you will want to make sure the TPS is good and adjusted properly if its off the car can lean out and stumble. if you don't have a fuel pressure gauge I would recommend installing one for tuning

I believe my maf sensor bad. I put my stock one back on and car idles/revs up. I just replaced my fuel filter. My tps at .42 and I set my fuel pressure at 43 with vacuum hose off. What settings do you have set on your translator?

@@GrandNash-bk2kq all your values are good I will check what my translator setting are and get back to you. Normally on the inside of the translator there is a chart for the recommended settings

Eluder one more question..which side of the egr gasket do you face the intake? The smooth side or the pressed side? Thanks!!!

I did smooth to the intake and pressed to block off I also used grey high temp permatex to help insure a good deal

it is on the bottom of the throttle body kind of in a angle
