Thanks for the video. My symptoms were a clunk on accelleration from stop or near stop. Had it looked at and was told it was the transmission and to just drive it until it dies.... I just did mine in the driveway but I do have a half-height scissor lift that I can wheel out. It was a pain. First I only had a full size impact 21mm for the mount nuts and even with a swivel, it wouldn't fit. I had to zip into town to get a half size 21mm (not a low profile-too short). Next, I couldn't get the mount out no matter how hard I pried. I completely removed the front 2 subframe bolts, loosened the middle 2 (there are 6) and jacked the engine up until it started to lift off my hoist and then took several tries. with 2 people one can pry while the other wrestles, but I only had me. the next issue was that once I had the new one in, I noticed the top locator pin was bent and wouldn't line up. I managed to sawzall the damned thing off and it all fell into place. the bolts for the bracket are quite easy to reach, and for me they were solid and came out well with a stubby impact on low power, short extension and a 15mm impact socket. In my case, I should have done that from the start. every car ages differently. some bolts rot on some and not others.

The process he used to remove the front mount is the correct way! That's how the GM dealership techs do it. You can perform this repair without a lift, just use 2 jack stands and floor jack with a 2 by 4 to lift the engine on the oil pan. If you need more clearence to remove the mount then drop the the front sub frame I little by loosing the frame bolts like the tech in the video did. Labor time with a lift is around 20mins RR. With out a lift 60mins. Good job 👍 looks like a skilled tech...

I did not need all the swivels and extensions. A 3/8 drive deep well 21mm was all i needed. Once the heat shield was out of the way it was a peice of cake

i have a 07 Buick lucerne. would this be a similar process to do the rear motor mount or is there are other brackets towards the back of the engine? and I would be doing it without a lift.

Honestly I'm not a hundred percent sure off hand. But if yours has the same motor, then it should be similar

front is easy to film apparently because no one ever shows all the other motor mounts on a how to.

How much should I pay for a job like this

Best would be to call three separate places and get three quotes. Prices are going to vary a lot depending on your region and what type of shop you go to
