I had a 99 Lesabre. I loved that car. I put 4 motors and 1 transmission in it. When the 5th motor blew I decided to let it go. It was getting to an age where I just couldn't find a good low mileage engine in the junk yard any more.

Great video Tom! So it's 5am and i was only able to watch half the video before i had to leave. So i took your advice to do the relearn manually. So I'm laying into the horn and going through the motions and the guy 2 house's down comes out with his shotgun. I thought maybe a burglar was prowling around his property. And he was hot on his trail. Well needless to say he must've thought the burglar ran into my yard because he fired off 2 shots and now i need a windshield and front left tire. The cops came arrested him for discharging firearm. So while the cops are questioning him. I have time to finally watch the rest of your video you devil you. No horn necessary! LMFAO! In hindsight i should've disconnected my horn and wired in a test light. And even more so i should've just used my scan tool. I sure hope the cops catch that prowler. Thumbs up! As always my friend!

Sound like the Throttle position sensor is bad on your throttle body verses the actuator. They are integrated and you have to replace the whole assembly on these.

Never seen that code reader/scanner before. Have you done a video on it? Do you like it? Btw you had me laughing with this video. Sadly there are going to be some people that will do them, so if i hear horns going off in my area, I will know who didn't watch the whole video thru. I did find it pretty impressive that you held a strait face the whole time thru the joke.

I have a 2005 Buick LaCrosse 3.8L V6. On my return from taking care of my mother I started having somewhat of the same issue. I felt it was because I didn’t run my car for about 6 month. It was turned on here and their but not driven. The codes that it gave me are P0601, P0606, U0107. Also almost all the symptoms you said are the ones I get. Such as Service traction system, Reduced engine power, Starting disabled hesitation, and it shuts off while driven or at a stop.
@frugalprepper
@frugalprepper 3 жыл бұрын
It sounds like it probably is. U0107 is a lost comm with the throttle body.
@MosesJesusElijah
@MosesJesusElijah 3 жыл бұрын
@@frugalprepper is it possible that U0107 can cause (P0601/internal control module, memory check sum error & P0606/PCM processor fault) to appear?
@frugalprepper
@frugalprepper 3 жыл бұрын
@@MosesJesusElijah Yes, you are getting incorrect data on the dedicated bus from the throttle body control module. I would say with e U0107 that it is more likely that than an actual bad ram / processor in the PCM.

Now just disable your EGR valve. And it will never carbon up again ;) Nor will your intake get dirty ;) Not to mention. Youll gain more power ;)

And have a check engine light and fail emissions testing. An still have a bad throttle body because it is the stepper motor that fails and it has nothing to do with carbon.
@MyTimmy75
@MyTimmy75 9 ай бұрын
If you're good with electronics. You can delete the EGR code from he cars computer, But you will definately have a cleaner stronger burning engine. And if you do have to do emission testing. You just plug the egr valve back in again ;) I've ran cars like that for 20 plus years. Zero issues. Only improvement ;) And the light will come on if the code isn't deleted. But will not affect anything. Just buy yourself a scanner OBD2 type. And just scan the car once in awhile to see if there's any codes beyond the EGR code. But in the end. You'll be adding years to your engines life. But respectfully. To each their own. :)

I was laughing when you said to hold the horn down for 3 minutes. I thought maybe you were working on a VW for a minute. Wouldn't the neighbors love that? Nice intro and good video thanks for sharing. what kind of screwdrivers are you using? I'm tired of my Craftsman seems the quality is pretty poor. Stanley Fat Max Diamond tips are my favorite screw drivers, nearly three years on them beating, prying and doing all the stuff you should never do to a screwdriver and they still work great. In this video I was using some cheap dollar store screwdriver my wife bought for me though.

thanks I'll have a look at them. I'm not easy on my screwdrivers either but IMO the Craftsman screwdrivers fail without too much pressure on them.

I'm sure you have the correct torque feel. But it looks scary with that 3/8 ratchet with a 1' long handel. And you grab to the end to snug it up. To all be careful doing this, you will strip and snap small bolts.
