Do you always dry rub before you polish/compound I used to be in car industry and we always wet rubbed

Before polishing parts, we clean the surfaces by washing them.

@@seanwatts8742 I think either way works. If I understand it correctly, wet sanding is mostly to prevent the material from building up on the piece of sandpaper. I'd personally wet sand, as you were in the auto industry.
