I'm very glad I found your channel Phillip, I've watched a lot of Lou and Boyd's videos, and you add a lot more to the encyclopedia, best wishes.

Part 2 did not disappoint Phil; ..I can see why I don’t do electrics with resistors .. as like Wayne I’m red/green colour blind! You really are doing a great job with this complex wiring/lighting upgrade .. and I’m fascinated by your attention to detail .. can’t wait for part3!

I don't think any model has made me curl up 'fetal-like' in the corner! However I do feel for you - keeping yourself 'on the ball' as to where and what you've done is always hard when you've got so much going in and on...and that was me asking whether that was your wife's shopping list 😆😂🤣 🇬🇧 love the landing bay lights, very cool - I trust there's some shuttles to go in there?

LOL!! There will be a shuttle taking off! Cheers!

Huge support for punch lists! I tend to build hard for weeks or months and then wear out on a thing. The punch list is the only thing that lets me pick up a big project after not touching it for months on end and press on to the finish line.

For those unaware, if you have a Dremel already, they make a drill press ready to adapt the tool.

Coming along great Phil. 👍 Is it me, or do you have a defective PCB for the shuttle bay landing lights? A set of two LEDs weren't working when you did the demonstration bud. Everytime I pull out this kit from the closet to drool over it or add a new 3rd party piece to it, I realize how big of a job this kit is to build. How much time is going to take. I'm excited to build it. I just wished I had the time right now. You are getting me so anxious to start it. We're planning on getting off of this truck in two years (from now) and I can't wait to have spare time to really get back into modeling again. To actually start working on this kit and the many others collecting dust in my utility room. Thanks for the video. Looking forward to the next one. You two take care!

Hey Phil, I'm new to your channel ...after watching Wayne's Videos on Enterprise builds. Really informative and your mix of humour and honesty is a breath of fresh air. I'm currently watching your Enterprise D 1/650 build which is fantastic. I can understand the urge to curl up in the corner lol.....but under the circumstances, you're not looking bad for a man in his mid 20's 😂 Can you please tell me which Enterprise Kits are still available?? I'm in the UK but trying to check online is a nightmare and the Google algorithm sucks

@@sprueVerse Thank you Phil I really appreciate your help. At last.... someone really relatable.😂 I like your solution to the phaser array on the Enterprise D saucer section too, absolute genius
@wraith200720072 жыл бұрын
Make sure that Impulse Crystal housing isn't too high or your bottom saucer will have a problem fitting to the top half...ask me how I know lol, I just ran the open side of the Crystal Housing I made over a sheet of sandpaper till I got it low enough so both halfs of the saucer fit perfect...also I had to cut down the pin location recieving holes on the botton section of the saucer the last two at the rear that are side by side where the Neck pins attaches to, they might ( like mine did ) get in the way and that will also cause a fit issue with both saucer halfs cause they will hit that Crystal Housing you installed...just a heads up Bro.

Those damn resistor bands will drive all of us mad. I have excellent color perception and the difference between purple and brown can still elude me. Some manufacturers are also sloppy. Anyway-- a good fix is to get yourself an "M-Tester." That name refers to a class of component analyzing devices, the real thing and knock-offs. Not expensive and worth every penny. I have stuff all over the place and no time to start fooling around with a resistor chart, a microscope and several types of lighting (--walked into a bar... modeling humor). Busted resistor? --if there's a tiny chunk of metal still sticking out, this thing will take a reading. That device can be searched out on eBay-- "component tester. If you do go in cowboy style and procure your own resistors, I always leave them in the delivery bag. Allelectronic, for example, prints a label in order to find their stuff quickly and sticks it right on the bag. Most out-in-the-world fiber optic is not glass-based. Some is, most not-- but it all can be warmed up and bent 110-degrees. I recommend using an impromptu jig. I recommend getting some black Tulip (a viscous gesso used for painting on fabric, comes in several colors-- grey and silver also useful) to coat the FO where it lies in a hole near other clear or FO parts. Last resort is finding brass tubing to sheath the stuff. Very fiddly but total light blockage! Micro-Mark is a wonderful place but is remarkably over-priced. It is best, I find, for getting the terminology for better search terms. Then find a low-cost jeweler's drill press on eBay. Usually cheap enough to buy two, for when one dies (and I'm not kidding). Much harder is finding "number drills." That's worth researching and buying in quantity on eBay. Those little devils break very easily. If you have a gigantic, conventional drill press-- say, for woodworking-- nothing wrong with getting a chuck adapter that goes down to "zero." Some don't, very frustrating. They basically are a tiny drill chuck and can easily be fitted into a conventional drill press. Despite having several layers of product-- all laying on top of each other -- you sound like you've got the right amount of self-doubt to slow down and consider all steps. All this junk is not easy and I think you're doing fine.

I used to work in the Electric, mechanical engineering world and I have good colour perception like you and determining the Colours on certain Resistor bands was a nightmare

Why didn’t you prime and light block the pieces first? Any other build of the refit I’ve watched, they prime and light block everything before doing everything else. Just a thought. Thanks for sharing, it’s coming along nicely. Happy days and model on! 😎🇨🇦
