Build 2023: Eliminate data silos with OneLake, the OneDrive for Data

Is OneLake logically joinable via VNET Data Gateways with on-premise SQL Server 2022 - like a virtualization layer, spanning between public cloud and on-premise, whereas OneLake acts as controller / master? -Another way could be via Azure Arc or a Self Hosted Integration Runtime (SHIR), but I would prefer the "abstracted-away"-solution. Thanks in advance!
