I keep a vehicle battery jumper in my go bag, it's basically a battery brick with detachable jumper cables, it also can charge phones or tablets and has a build in flashlight and It has proven its worth several times over.

My thought process behind this concept is that I might need to run out of the house in nothing but pj’s, what would I bring. Full change of clothes with sneakers, toiletries, cash, expired ID, spare car key, to go along with the things you mentioned. An emergency can be localized to your street only but you’d still need to get out asap and maybe just go to a family member’s house for a few days.

Great tips. I need to re prepare a bag. I had go bags in my car. I left my car at my son's house..(stored) for a short period of time...HE CLEANED OUT EVERYTHING..GO bag..camping gear..power supplies paperwork..EVERYTHING. said it was un needed junk!! Then informed me my car no longer ran and he "disposed" of it. 😢 guess I just lost the will to prep after that. THANK YOU FOR THE KICK IN THE BUTT REMINDER!!

Due to health issues, my family would have to leave in vehicles. Therefore, I use totes with bags in them. The totes are easy to load and unload. and the bags have labels to tells us what is in each of them. Including a general "bug out" bag in each tote.

I have had a trunk bag in my vehicle since the 1980’s. At first it was simply a gym bag but it morphed as time went by. Tomorrow will be a week since my HW Travel Duffle arrived. It immediately became my trunk bag. I carry changes of clothes and under garments, hygiene kit, FAK which also includes my meds, blanket and pillow, food and water, flashlight and electronics. Also in my vehicle is my GHB which at this time is the HW M23 ruck and my EDC which is the HW Waist Pack. A HW Haversack is my office bag which houses my laptop and other office supplies. I openly admit that I have a problem, I am a The Hidden Woodsmen junkie!

Honestly, I only have 2 "bags" that are full and ready to go. My Get Home Bag and a Document Bag. I'm a local truck driver and might be as far as 300 miles from home, so my GHB is loaded as if I will have to walk home. My pickup has a tool box that is loaded with Bug Out stuff, just in case. At home, I have a room that has 2 duffel bags and 6 backpacks for any of the camping/bush craft/survival/prep stuff in it. It's very organized to were my wife and I can pack and go in 15 min. I think 1 pack to cover all could leave you short. You never know of the whats and whys. Plus I don't want to spend the money on enough packs to cover both my wife and I for all scenarios and then stock them. It's bad enough I already multiples of a lot of stuff. I also have a camper that only needs food and a 12x12 stocked, livable storm shelter in the back yard, in case of fire or tornado. I had to do things this way due to the fact that walking out is not an option. My wife is disabled and wouldn't be able to even make it out of city limits. It's cost so money, but it's a system that works best for us.

I have had a bug out bag for over 40 years . It has been changed many times in those years . Mine is in bigger bag so I have extra room . I use my alps outdoorz commander pack and bag . Also , we have about 30 stashes and a stocked bug out location . We sold a lot of the “ extras “ in the last 3 years . We even traded stuff that I had a total of around $50 in for a car about 3 years ago .

Great video. Love the bag and at first glance it doesn’t look military, very unsuspecting. I also pack my clothes in a ranger roll it saves a lot of space.

It's a nice-looking duffle bag, with velcro on the ends along with zippers. I do like the color scheme. Other than that, my 20 plus year old Nike duffle bag has been used and abused lol. This would make a nice replacement when I decide to replace it. Enjoyed the vid. 👍

Good video! I keep my emergency bags and totes in the bedroom closet. Keys and eyeglasses go into my purse every night before bed, and that bag (the Helikon-tex satchel) gets tossed into the closet on top of the pile. I can grab it all at a moment's notice. Basic tools, camping gear, extra clothes, critical paperwork.... not everything I'd want to have with us, but it will have to do.

1. put everything in Ziplock bags…remember LAYERS 2. tarp/ rain gear on top 3. extra haversackS of food 4. HAVE A DESTINATION PRE-DETERMINED (with identical paper maps distributed to entire family)

First off, I love the T-shirt. I was born and raised there, miss the place, and i would throw a first aid kit and a poncho in there. I know you probably have them in the truck, but there light and take-up no space.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and mine would be that a duffel bag is it the best for a Get Home bag or Bug Out bag because it would be tough to move with. I’d suggest a backpack with waist strap but again, this is my opinion

The only GO will be an immediate wildfire or chemical spill evac. Speed is the criteria. The plan is to have the materials to expedite return. File crate of financial records, kitchen drawer of current business, backpack to supplement material already in car, and laptop and printer. Zero to down the driveway in well under 5 minutes.
