Very well done. A friend of mine is building Hendrix Type Foundry for me and it looks fantastic. He's trying to encourage me to build these structures.

Amazing work Doug, I think some people are a bit shy of Hydrocal kits and its really awesome to work with, ya its fragile but can still be repaired if you get cracks and sometimes it even adds to the look. I really love how it takes the paint like a stain the way you said, it really is almost self weathering in that regard. Is that part of Ed Fulasz's old kits? I have over half of his line from ebay and I love them, so hard to come buy and they usually go for a high price. Sure would like to see those kits get released again. Thanks for sharing. We learn so much from your work. Cheers Rob

Hi Rob, yes that was part of Ed's kit's. It'll be part of a kit in a few months.

Okay now the mortar step makes a lot more sense. Brick work seal then mortar. And probably seal. Does the same work o. Plastic bricks? Thanks for the demo.

Hi, great video! Question, for filling the gaps, hydrocal or regular powdered plaster of Paris? Thanks!
@FosScaleModels Жыл бұрын
Either will do, it's small amount needed. But Hydrocal is preferable; it seems to be a finer crushed powder. Thanks for watching!

I like the results quite a lot. However I think that pure white for the mortar is too light and blueish. A light grey with some green or yellow might look more realistic.

For structures that may be handled a bit more, any recommendation on technique that gives similar results to the powders but with more durability?
@FosScaleModels Жыл бұрын
You could seal it with a matte spray, but sometimes the finish / colors diminish.

Loved the video, but I'm hoping you omit the pop-up sound effects in the future. I wear headphones, and the pitch and sound choice, for the pop-ups, is very uncomfortable . Other than that, I wouldn't change a thing
