G'day Bill. I enjoyed your tenacity and ingenuity. Can you recall spring specifications, such as length/gauge/etc. and were they fastened by hooking them in?
@BillsBuildandRace Жыл бұрын
I just bought cheap springs from the hardware that were 300mm long & hooked the ends in until I got the tension right.

Did he come back Bill? I would think 100 kms is no big challenge. He’ll be back to reclaim his territory.😊

I would have taken him for a drive to the bottom of the dam for a minute or two. Presuming that's what you actually did Bill, but fair enough not saying so on camera. :)

Bro I am preparing for a battle with 20 of these crows, They have all recognized me well as the guy who throws rocks at us because we annoy him when he jogs in town. I am buying a fake crow and acting like beating it up in front of them and who ever dive bomb me will feel this fist.

How about putting a mirror inside the trap,he thinks his reflection is another crow in his territory

That insanity would be well worth sacrificing a pane of glass over. I had a woodpecker waking me up every morning for about a week last year. One morning I met him outside and we came to an understanding. I did most of the talking...

Try putting a mirror on your lawn it will peck at that instead it worked for me better than trapping

Ravens and Crows are 2 different birds, and we have both in the USA

And holy hell we have laws for shooting pest birds. My air rifle would have dispached the correct crow in minutes.

Where did you get the camera for $35
@BillsBuildandRace2 жыл бұрын
e-bay - but it broke in the second week & the seller ignored my complaints. A$120 buys a much better 4k one. Check the specs carefully b4 you buy.

Yes they are tempting alright, but they are a prohibited weapon in NSW, carrying stiff jail sentences.

@@filipbrecelj669 Along with crossbows. To possess, buy or use an air rifle you must have a firearms license, and a gun safe to store it in. These over bearing "Toughest firearms laws in the world" were forced on Australians by the wife of the then Prime Minister John Howard after the tragic Port Arthur Massacre. They also banned all self loading firearms. Howard was bringing in the GST tax reforms, and threatened any state or territory that did not sign up to his gun laws that they would not get that gigantic revenue, which gagged all debate and variation by them. That's how we got our so called "uniform" gun laws, which of course have been since altered by every state so they are no longer "uniform". They were able to force legal gun sport people and even farmers to surrender their guns for destruction because they had just brought in compulsory firearm registration. So they knew where all the guns were, and all the law abiding citizens who had registered their guns had no choice but to turn them in. Of course the criminals had not done that, and Howard's laws have done little to stop gun crime in Australia INCREASING since those laws came in. I turned in a three shot .338W, and with the compensation (which was more than I paid for it), went straight out and bought a brand new bolt action, six shot capacity 338W. So what did all that accomplish? Crossbows were banned in NSW as a reaction to the Milperra Bikey gun battle - where no crossbows were used or even present!

I would have given this bird lead poisoning long ago your Magpie already showed relocation does not deter birds. They fly to other continents if they want to.
