to configure You didn't mention that you have to connect to a hotspot in you Wi-Fi list otherwise the browser won't find anything

On your 7" Screen it seems like the software does not fit the screen properly. It cuts a bit on the buttom. Is it possible to scroll the view down a bit, so there is no cut of?

Thanks for the guide worked seamlessly. @5:19 i seem to have trouble editing what stats are shown on my Pi. it looks like themes stats cant be changed? am i missing something?

@@TechMadeEasyUK appreciate the reply. so all 3 themes worke seamlessly but im unable to modify what exact stats are shown on the Pi. I think the widget functionality only works for within the MoBro app and the themes have a set list of stats. As i cant monitor my mobo water pumps for example. i think its a feature in the works as i commented on the mobro channel and its something they are working on. i love the vid. its much clearer now. i got a few questions tho. since i purchase a raspberry pie just for this project i dont have to install any software or flash any in my brandnew raspberry pie? just the modbros software? and i hope you could make a video about display connection via GPIO

You'll need to flash your SD card with the ModBros package, as shown in the video, but that's all.

Great video thanks . I was wondering only 1 thing .. if I don’t want to power the device from the normal power cable .. how can it power up inside the pc case when I turn my pc on ? If you wonder why I asked .. because I am planning to put it in the pc case that I have to display the statues through the tempered glass of the pc case .. how ?

You could create a power lead which has MICRO-USB one end and a 4pin molex connector on the other

I think the first tab is useless because its not displaying on the screen. Only themes display on the screen. Is this normal?

I've followed all the steps but the when the imager is writing onto the SD my SD card reader isn't recognized anymore and I cant eject it so when I take it out it corrupts all the data

Sounds like it could be an issue with your card reader, have you contacted the raspberry pi foundation who created the imager tool?

No, unfortunately the raspberry Pi and screen module draw too much power to be connected to a PC USB port. You're better off buying a separate power supply which can provide enough power

If you're putting the screen inside your case you're better off using a hdmi screen connected directly to your graphics card. Jayz 2 Cents has an excellent video on this

The raspberry Pi 3 only supports output up to 1080p, but if you can find a 7" screen with that high a resolution it should work

@@TechMadeEasyUK Found out it won't work with aida64. There is a way to use aida64 with raspberry pie found on reddit but the instructions aren't clear. Im not to tech savvy, any way you can help? Or make a video, I'm sure a lot of people want to go this route rather than having the screen inside the pc. Thanks. I found this on reddit.com/r/raspberry_pi/comments/g3u0eg/raspberry_pi_pc_hardware_resource_monitor_using/ it says the following; "On the Pi, I set it up to open a browser in Kiosk mode at boot via a startup script which runs at boot with: echo "@/home/pi/launcher.sh" >> /home/pi/.config/lxsession/LXDEW/autostart nano /home/pi/launcher.sh chromium --start-fullscreen --app=IP:PORT (Make sure you replace the IP and port with your correct one)" credit goes to p1r473.

It requires both devices to be connected to the same network, but doesn’t require Internet access to work

Finally a good way to put my older RPi 2 to use (no wifi, so get ready for cable mess). However, how it acts when the PC is off? Anyway thanks for video, helped me alot.

When I first tried it I found it would display the last stats it received when the pc is turned off, but I'm told it now goes into a low power mode, but I've not confirmed.

@@TechMadeEasyUK I've read sata power and molex are rated at 54w which would be approximately 1 amp each so I'd need 2 data headers to power a RPI 7" screen (1,4a) and a RPI (0,95a), I'm I right?

You could definitely do that, this has the potential for being a cleaner looking solution imo. But a display hooked up to the GPU and then an app displaying similar stats would look great

Maybe with a Raspberry Pi 4 as that has dual monitor outputs, but you'd need to check with ModBros if they support that

Nice video. Can you do a video on driving multiple Pi's on the same power supply. I'm trying to find a way to synchronize multiple Pi screens to show one large image.

Theoretically if the PSU kicks out enough current you can run multiple devices from it. There are plenty of clustering videos which show this. The Pi 4 can output 2 x 4k signals though, so I'm curious; how big an image are you wanting to display?

@@TechMadeEasyUK I was thinking of pushing 4 to 6 small 5 inch or 7 inch displays. I've been looking at a few cluster tutorials and all are a bit different interns of supplying power. I think I found a solution, but I'm not keen on putting two power supplies in my case. So, I'm designing a build which merges a modern PC build with SBC's in a very large water cooling case.

You could but it would still rely on WiFi which may be impeded if you put it inside the case

Yes, the mobro software also allows you to view stats via a Web browser, so you could have a browser open on your second screen

Hey, I just completed this project today and had a similiar problem. With the modbros-software, you can SSH into the system and add a line to the config file at /boot/config.txt. At the bottom, you need to add 'display_rotate = X' (where x is a number between 1 and 4; e.g. 2 would be 180° turned). I found this information in their forum at www.mod-bros.com/en/forum/t/how-to-rotate-screen-with-mobro-software-installed~1022 I hope this helps!

ive left it on to see if it would load or something but it stays at white screen, I tried plugging a ethernet into it and seeing if that would help as well

No it's not connected through a video cable, for vertical mode you're best off discussing with Mod Bros, who wrote the software

I found Lamptron and this "pi method" but I would like to ask some questions, for only stats is PI 3 enough? or would I need ver. 4, 5? Is there a non-touch 5" screen that you would recommend with same ribbon cable? can I power this from my mobo inside the PC case?

Pi 3 is fine, even an old pi from ebay would be fine. For screens I would look on amazon or ebay for suitable units. You might struggle powering from a USB port though, it won't supply enough power

​@@TechMadeEasyUK I looked on amazon but there are a lot of brands and I have no experience which one is good or not maybe I over-complicate it my bad habit when I buy anything :) 5" is a size that I could fit my psu shroud better, but the power would be the most interesting maybe from mobo usb connectors maybe a sata or molex connector will look if someone done this before :) thx for answer best regards.

@Tech Made Easy Is there a way to get this kind of small monitor for my PC Temperatures but on Windows 10 ? im gaming on Windows 10 and would like to see my PC temps outside of my computer. And what RPi should I bought for this.. Thanks in advance !

If you just want to use Windows 10 and your pc has a 2nd monitor output, just connect up a small hdmi screen (available on Amazon) and you can display windows 10 apps on it

I wouldn't recommend anything too invasive, but it's relatively easy to add a power button to a raspberry pi. I would look at this solution instead

Hi very cool video and comprehensive guide Maybe im doing something wrong but my pi isn't displaying anything I've tried with normal raspbian and another OS and that works just fine This file however doesn't display anything for me Is anyone else having this issue?
