So here I am wondering why a power-washing company wasn't called in to do a one-hour (or less) job of cleaning the exterior vinyl cladding, instead of a scrub brush job that takes 3 to 4 hours? I'm guessing that the scrubbing (and conversation) is for the sake of the TV cameras. Never mind, no matter - the end result is spectacular. I love it.

+S J Belew Exterior vinyl cladding is painted?? I'm pretty sure vinyl cladding comes in a variety of colours - it's plastic - why paint it? I guess they don't have the same kind of vinyl cladding as we do in Canada. My home is clad with vinyl. Every year the strata council (condo council) hires a power washing company to clean our buildings.

This is a segment from a show called Better Homes and Gardens which is on every Friday in Australia. All these DIY segments are about things you can do yourself to save money, or just for a sense of personal accomplishment. Hiring somebody to come and pressure clean your house costs extra money and doesnt really fit in with the DIY theme. So running over it with a hose/brush is something you can do yourself and free of cost. Most Aussies do have pressure cleaners for driveways. Personally I just borrow my neighbours when I need one and he borrows my brew gear for making beer.
