the icing on the cake would have been a listing of parts and sources. good vid!

Cool build. I built one over the summer. Was a fun project. Was interesting to see that almost any wire I used in testing became an antenna.

Supercool Mr Ape! Put some woodgrain vinyl on it and it'll look like it is 1970's NOS Radioshack gear!👍🤠

Always enjoy your build projects. I've been counting all your different multimeters; I think I'm up to 492...am I close?

Lol, that’s close. Thanks for watching Bob 👍

That would be very useful for comparing HT antennas. Great video Ape.

Hey I am trying to make a telemetry setup and i am missing the fsm, is there a way to set the FSM for a single frequency?
@TheSmokinApe4 ай бұрын
I’m sure there is but I’m not sure how, I’d use an antenna tuned for that frequency 👍
@that240guysx4 ай бұрын
I do have a yagi antenna tuned to it! Using sdr I can hear the signal I just have very poor hearing so I'd like to visualize the signal strength to adapt!
@seniorchief489 ай бұрын
Could this be incorporated into a fox hunt yagi setup?
@TheSmokinApe9 ай бұрын
I am sure it could, just use the yagi as the antenna. I do wonder how well it would work at distance, especially in an RF rich environment...

sir whats the frequency range bcoz in34 can detect AM signal

Can something similar be done to limit the FSM to a specific frequency range? Curious.
@TheSmokinApe2 жыл бұрын
If there is, I am not smart enough to tell you how to do it. Thanks for watching Tim.
@crazyham Жыл бұрын
Yes, you can add a band pass filter inline with the antenna system or even use a variable inductor in series with the antenna to change resonant frequency..

Nice build Ape. A very useful (I dear say essential) tool when playing with antennas. SWR isn't nearly as important as field strength. A dummy load has perfect SWR, but zero field strength. 73

Great tool for you icom guys who fight that nasty RF getting into your SDR front end radios 📻😊also a Tiny SA ultra will also help when hunting specific frequencies.
