Thanks for the detailed video. I recommend using the EOMONTH function for your dates. So start date would be best =EOMONTH(G4,-1)+1. And end date would be =EOMONTH(G4,1). Since you already have Jan-21 in the 4th row, that is actually the date 01/01/2021 with formatting removing the day.

Can you show me how to build the income recognition sheet using months only (i.e do not break it down by a number of days) I need a consistent income cycle. so if the contract is over 12 months then I need to simply take the contract value over 12 exactly monthly income over the contracted period

Thank you for your comment. Much appreciated. By billing schedule I presume you mean when there are multiple invoices issued over a contract period (i.e. quarterly invoices). If this is the case then the contract start/end date would need to be replaced with revenue start and end date. So in the case where you have an annual contract which is billed quarterly, there would need to be 4 rows in the DR schedule to reflect each quarter with the total contract value pro-rated.
