I took all those pictures of the 6-ft Enterprise D shooting model when it was on display at the Skirball Center California (for a Paul Allen collection show) in February 2022. The pictures out there of this model from the Christie's Auction (where Paul Allen bought it for like a half million dollars) were few and taken under strange lighting. It is worth noting that the 6-footer was repainted for the Generations film, so it has some differences from the television series.

A fine part four, Laurel and Hardy of the modelling fraternity take on the D... Chaining the poor boy to the bench, shame on you! 😆 Nice work on the phaser section and pinning your nacelles - Onwards to the 'Intermission'

Looking great Phil. I think the Phaser doesn't always have the chase effect so I think your number of LEDs are different from the number Helios expected, excellent update as always.

Hi Phil. Great to see you and Lou having fun together. I don't think you have done yourself any favours by light blocking the interiors with matt black. This is likely why you are suffering from dim windows on the periphery. If I need to use "flood" lighting like this I tend to light block with silver paint. It is just as good as black for blocking light but then reflects the light around rather than absorbing and killing it as black does. I often put a mist of matt white over the silver to give a better white balance and minimise hot spots. You are really making life difficult for yourself with version 1 of an epic sized model! All credit to you for your patience and perseverance 👍👏

Phil like a "Black Hole" the black light blocking -light blocks good but it also Absorbs the light as well,to get the light to spread you need to put a flat white coat of paint on the inside of the whole model. Then, you will get a better sense of how your lighting is going and whether you need to add or even subtract lighting. This is what I have learnt from watching modellers of standing like -Boyd Crompton-Lou-and many others. But having said this it's just my opinion and it's your model and you do your thing. I am liking the construction so far it's impressive.

That is true for certain applications - I assure you this model packs a punch and that would make the light unrealistic in my opinion.

Uncle Lou!!! 😄 Great build to follow I am enjoying it. I saw on Tested that there is a Warp Core kit that you can print out and it even has parts for lighting from the interior, that would make a great companion piece for this.

Always fun seeing you two together! And yeah I'm starting to worry about that central support as well. Wonder if I could epoxie so metal bars to the side to strengthen it?

I don’t think so.

I would paint the edge black with some glossy black and then mask the rim windows.

I'm just wondering if the Pylons will be able to support the weight of the nacelles when they're fully assembled? Was great to see Lou in your shop and you two working together on this. Good fun, guys. I am looking forward to the next video.

Actually, the pylons are the lightest part of this kit!
@williamd17324 ай бұрын
@sprueVerse That's what I was wondering. They seem pretty thin, and I could see them flexing each time you flipped it over with just a half piece of Nacelle attached.

Excellent progress on the build Phil. A quick question, when you run the phaser effect does it light up both the top and bottom phaser strip at the same time? I look forward to the next part in the series.

Hi, the phaser effect for top is on a separate activation button and operates independently of the bottom.🖖

why didn't you paint the inside white? That would have helped illuminate the lights more evenly.

Actually that isn’t the issue - I’m looking for a more subtle light source and I’m more than bright enough now.
