Alexandria, VA is updating its green building policy regarding energy use in new residential and commercial buildings. Since building energy use accounts for 50-60% of Alexandria’s greenhouse gas emissions, it will be impossible to meet our emissions reduction goals without rapidly shifting to net-zero energy performance.
