I bought a light kit and used the board to light everything plus I added a strobe and landing lights. This plugs into your aux opening,only uses 5 vts. as expected. hard wiring them is not recommended by anyone that owns them. Move the battery cover metal plates,reglue closer to the top of the foam.Its a really great plane. I think Banggood sells the Factory rejected ones. Paint the z frames yellow. looks better.

That's a very good looking biplane! Those led's really should be mentioned somewhere, and it's a letdown that they aren't even wired up. Other than that and the hatch, good plane!

Nice job Vas, I really like the look of the Waco. But like +Badmuthatrucker666 mentioned did seem to have a lot of the same issues with my Dynam Pitts Python. An awesome flyer, but paint is poor and the rudder looked like a banana when I got it. Love the pilot! Cheers Michael

Thanks for watching, Michael. I have to say, I was a little disappointed with this brand's quality, but thankfully the plane is an excellent performer in the air. Despite its build issues, it is a brilliant plane to fly. By the way, I upgraded the Pilatus PC-9's power system. I'm using a NTM EF-1 1300kv motor with a 70amp ESC and this thing is a rocket now. I test flew it yesterday with a 11x7.5 prop (is what I had) and it hammers, but I had to limit my throttle at 60% to not over draw on the motor. Got some new props coming and hopefully I'll have it at 100% then. Now I can take off a lot quicker and only at half throttle, while before it needed a huge run-up and full throttle to take off. I should have it uploaded in a week or so. I think you'll enjoy it.

Use clear Packing tape on the top wing where the two pieces join together. Use Expos on your Transmitter.

Dude the pictures for the decals are right on the page of the manual in the lower left corner. It tells you exactly where to put them and even numbers them for you. As for the hatch why not just use a small piece of tape filled over with a sticky end on the inside of the front of the hatch to pull up on.

Funny, exactly this plane caught my eye today, while I scrolled through banggood's items. Nice. I have the Dynam Hawksky V2 and started flying the day before yesterday. Crashed immediately beyond repair. I fixed it that same afternoon (with HPX-tape and went for it again. I was so angry and at the same time so pleased that I managed to fly it on that same day. I should have listened to what you said in previous flying videos. It's really not easy to fly these 3s or more planes without a good amount of training. I disagree that simulators can give any help as a complete beginner. Yes you learn how the controls affect the plane BUT any hobby-grade plane will react completely different than these simulated planes. No comparison. I don't know if a toy-grade plane would have given me better preparation. I think in the end it's a matter of really wanting it and forget about the look and decals of your first hobby-grade plane. I didn't prepare for the crash, the first time I threw it into the air. After it got scratched and cracked, I just thought: OK, I will keep throwing you "piece of foam" into the air until you glide, keep on crashing, dude, I don't care!!! LOL. I think this attitude was missing and it got released when I arrived at the flying site the second time. And it helped me. Magically I flew the plane. Just my experience that I wanted to share here with you guys. My tip for full virgins like I was: Prepare with HPX-Tape or buy some drywall tape and water resistant wood glue. You will need it and you will wonder how repairable these planes actually are. 2 days of flight experience and I learned so much already. No comparison to driving an rc-car. Thanx Vas for your inspiration in approaching different fields of the RC-world.

+Music_Pets_RC beyond repair. fixed it that day?
@InTheSh89 жыл бұрын
+Dillan Hart Yes, the tail cracked and the cockpit. I flew nose down from high altitude into a dry seabed (rocks!) When I got home I first didn't know what to do. Actually I thought it would be better to fix it professionally, but lacking the knowledge of how exactly to do that I decided to apply repair tape so that I could give it another try at once. It was a risk because the plane could have broken into pieces up in the air again. This is what I meant when I said beyond repair. Of course it was repairable but would have taken at least 24 hours to dry and be able to fly again.
@fwuushy9 жыл бұрын
Music_Pets_RC glad you got it flying again. That makes more sense. Man I want to get into this hobby but that seems terrifying.
@InTheSh89 жыл бұрын
+Dillan Hart I don't know where you're located. If you have access to a wheat field or higher grass I'd strongly recommend to make your maiden flight there. Usually the plane won't take any damage then if it goes down in a reasonable angle. Furthermore it's always good to buy some 9g servos to replace them. If only one servo breaks you can't fly at all. Repair tape, well charged transmitter batteries (Eneloop). Be sure that you understand the effects that the ailerons will have. For turn to the right, the right flap must go up. If it doesn't you'll have to reverse the channel. Same for the elevator. I had to do that, cause my package wasn't RTF. Personally I'm glad that I started with 3 channels. There are recommendations to start by using even the rudder as a beginner. I don't think this is a good idea. Try some simulation apps on a tablet pc and find out which Mode your brain is wired to! I use Mode 2 (throttle left, ailerons and elevator right). Never use full throttle not even when you throw your plane into the air. Full throttle is definitely for intermediate flyers on 3s. Fly circles at first only in one direction (the one that your brain prefers) and try to calm yourself down and relax. You will feel your heart beating through your chest, believe me. Be aware that the controls are very smooth and a slight stick movement away from the center can have great impact and often must be answered with counter-movement at once. The more you turn your plane, the more it usually will want to dive. So, always be prepared to push the stick slightly down to use the elevator. Flying with low throttle is much easier, because your brain has to adjust to the speeds that a plane can reach. For flying low throttle there shouldn't be strong and changing wind conditions. I'm looking forward to make my 3rd flight as soon as there's an appropriate day for that. I think I covered most of the things you have to be aware of before your maiden flight. If you have any further questions you can ask me on my channel.

Yes, you can.

So most LEDs run off voltages from 7-12 volts not saying that they 100% do but that what some light kits run on. Also I think your over stressing about the top of the wing with the support its got I don't see it coming apart sooon unless you planning on going at 180kmh and pulling full up but even then I see tail failing first
@AussieRCPlayground9 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Watching this video again, I think I over emphasised that point about the top wing needlessly. The LEDs don't even work properly anyway, they're a huge letdown and are only just dim. But aside from that, the plane is a dream to fly and a lot of these issues can be forgiven. At least I do, anyway.

Have read a lot of complaints about quality control on this bird, do you know if Dynam have cleaned up there act yet?...
@stedenvideos38256 жыл бұрын
Late reply to your question.. bur nope, not with my new red Waco anyway. Not built it yet so early days - but what I can see already is: fuselage halves separating at rear end, battery hatch is so curved its like a rocking chair, battery hatch magnets poorly placed so as to be ineffective. Its what I expect from a Chinese RC plane - nice design, good price, poor QC. You need to put in some effort to fix problems. (not sure I could stick foam planes together all day long in a Chinese factory without messing up sometimes!)

It is, but I've straightened it some and it's not as noticeable now. Still, it flies awesome and you'll see it next week, this thing is brilliant. Too bad the build was a pain, otherwise this would be the perfect plane.

Had the same (but worse) warpage with my Dynam Pitts Python. Also had a servo strip while attaching a pushrod (yeah, right) and the foam felt dry, can only liken it to that coloured popcorn stuff you by at the supermarket. Not largely impressed with the brand in general.

i had no issues with paint. i epoxied my top wing together. when you mount the bolts to the cabanes, i inserted them according to the angle and used needle nose pliers to get the nut on. I had to make a new aileron control wire. one was too long. i tried to re-bend but its brittle metal an broke. also i had to bend my gear as my plane didn't have a flat and a cover. Also the screwdriver they give you is not long enough to fasten the tail. I also had to epoxy my gear fairings as one came off too easy. I didn't bother with the LED lights either.. Sad that it dint come with a controller with the kit. indeed check the magnets on the canopy. good hatch mod. also not supplied was silicone ring keepers for control clevises. All in all it's a great flying plane. Nice video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pZ-0oZiwfaijhtU

I really liked this plane too. A guy at our club has one of these when I seen it fly it flew beautify. Until the one elevator came off. Landed safely & fixed. Next flight the other elevator fell off. Landed safely & fixed. Then the rudder came loose. Fixed that. At full speed the elevators fluttered so for $400+.Not worth the money much better planes out there for $400.

It looks like you got a pre-production model for the review. But whatever, the current promotion is only $169.99, so a few minor flaws are to be expected: www.banggood.com/Dynam-Waco-Yellow-1270mm-50inch-Wingspan-RC-Warbird-PNP-p-1012988.html?p=JQ26191551677201504Z

+Mr. agogohome agogohome Not sure how I ended up with a pre-production model when this plane has been out for a while, but if I did, it would be a shame because this plane flies extremely well despite its flaws. Also, $169.99 is the US price, which equates to about $227 AUD currently.

Thank you. Haven't had any issues with the ESC. I have over 3 dozen packs on this plane and so far no issues. I run it constantly on 4S, too. It flies great every time and is one of my favourite planes.
