Here we have a quick build
a small wooden mallet from Maple
the handle is turned
the head hand cut.
Just a quick shop project to replace an adjustment mallet.

What’s the use case for a wooden mallet that size? Just curious.

Well, there are a number of uses. Mostly where you require a light controlled tap. Plane adjustments, setting a clamp just so, and the like. This one is going to be used in the kitchen: removing skins from garlic, smashing tomatoes, olives and such as. That design is pretty easy to make.
