Docking is a lot easier in a 2d game than a 3d game. Before Getting a 3d space flight game I would recommend a game like this to practice.

A fairly simple method of docking is to reach LEO, use the 'navigate to' feature to get close to the thing you're docking with, then accelerate in its direction with a small engine until the space station or what-have-you isn't moving away from your rocket. Be careful when doing this, because if you spend a bit too much time burning, your rocket will be moving faster than the station, and you'll have to repeat the maneuver. Once the station isn't moving away from your ship at a fast pace, fine-tune the relative velocities until the station doesn't look like its moving away at all. Then just take your rocket in for a docking maneuver with RCS thrusters. Be sure to burn a bit in the opposite direction of however you're moving to ensure the relative velocities stay the same. Hope this helps!

the im provements to the game over the years has allowed me to take 2 stations on 2 diffrent orbits to merge together, my Old space station took like about 10-12 rockets, the new space station (which i havent completed) used about 15 rockets with 24 parts+. Even with my current space station im impressed with a 4 year old space station, im amazed on how you used engines as connectors, although i dont know if thats possible anymore without any part clipping

It's pretty easy to get to the moon landing is the hard part having a landing bed helps for example a low thrust engine with a long fuel tank sure some other stuff won't survive but you land on the moon I'll upload the blueprints to Twitter so you know what I mean
