Build Strong Sleeved DIY Axles This Way + New Concentric Slave Cylinder from Tilton Engineering

Today we are finishing up the toyota C60 transmission by installing our new hydraulic throw out bearing, or concentric salve cylinder from Tilton engineering. Were also going to be working on the new axles also. The way these axles were made was by cutting the toyota celica axles in half and sleeving them with .250 wall DOM. I'm using 30 degree angles on the axle shaft ends to reduce sheer forces on the welds only.

Get rid of those hub springs in the clutch. There won't be any question of whether the clutch is engaged or not. You got spare clutches, you can weld one solid and try it, and see how it feels. You'll order one without.

​@@DirtGearTvI think you should try welding up a cheap replacement if you have any wonder at all what it's like. You're the expert here, nobody else really knows what you want. And you have that great ability to pursue a logical thought to its logical conclusion. I did it about 30 years ago, when all the replacement parts were crap; I just welded up a clutch disc to see. Loved it, bought a custom built clutch disc for a damn Chevette.
