Lovely Dino and a fantastic base, job well done! I hear the Rex was part of the bird family, so this particular beast might have been more colourful than you might think...

"Breakfast after the storm" The bits of branch look like the blew into a clearing after a big storm. He took down his kill as it browsed on the leaf litter. THe base is "just enough". It hints at a story and den't take over from the beasties. Good stuff!

Great work Phil, enjoying your work and videos, you continue to inspire me and have given me a thousand ideas, hints and tips just like Lou and Wayne. While watching the video I had a vision of the classic T rex depiction stood on a cliff with the volcano eruption in the background. Maybe that might be something for you to consider...I know you like your lights and twinkles so you could easily make the lava look like its glowing, you could even buy a tiny smoke generator …depends how far you want to take this particular diorama. Loving what you're doing keep up the great work.

Beautiful finish!! But you were right about the distance camera not really correctly showing your amazing, layered painting work from that one camera. I wish I had the ability to layer paint my Allosaurus. After looking at the references I used to paint it, I saw Browns going into green. There isn't any sure way to know what colors Dinosaurs were! There's a quote from the late Stan Winston on why the painted the JP dinosaurs the way they did " Because it looks right, because it feels right." From a distance it looks like Phill Tippett's T-Rex form his 1984 Prehistoric Beast sop motion film. But It's way more impressive up close. Thank You for Your Time!

I know there’s a stegosaurus ( the one with the big back plates and small head) and a stegoceras (a ceratopsian) With a broad flat head but I think the ceratopsian in your diorama is one of the triceratops.

Phil, as the T Rex is an ambush Dino, I’d assume coloration would blend into the environment..
@tonyl7418 Жыл бұрын
Phil, hydra hydrant is right, it’s a Triceratops.

Well we don't know for sure what these creaturs did really look like when they were alive! We don't have any 'fleashed out' T-Rex or other dinosaurs, just fossilised skeletons or part skeletons surviving,. We can only guess what their skin colours were
