I got super stoned and watched this entire video. 30 mins went by and I have to say I’m very impressed. Very well shot, sequenced and edited. The music didn’t make me want to throw my phone across the room. All and all my friend, I give you 5 stars. Bad ass bandit build and I appreciate the mellow 30 minute smoke break 🤜🏻💥🤛🏻

My dad loves Trans Am, he was driving it when he was young in the late 70's so great work.

I built this in the 80's under Monogram. It was pre-painted black with a factory quality finish and perfectly formed with zero flash and flawless fit. Revell it seems, is not at all concerned about QC!! BTW, exceptional job on getting this re-release to the standard you did, especially the engine and superb paint work on the wheels!!

Thanks! 🙂 I'm actually pretty disappointed with the casting and fit of the parts on this Revell model. But I tried to make the best of it, even though it took a lot of effort and patience.

Id love to have one of these kits, but i want one of my 89 pontiac trans am ws6, with the gta trim. That would be an awesome piece to have on the dash, roof, or hood at a car show. Its the little details that really catch the eye. Great job.

Excelent build, hat of for you. This car needs to be build perfect. I changed from 1-24/25 to the big scale 1-12 and 1-8 th and got this model also waiting to be build. Now building the Nismo R32 GTR 1-12 from Fujimi. But the bigger you go,the more precieze you need to be with sanding the mold lines away. I am now for more than 8 hours sanding and checking,and i think i am now at 75% before priming. But those big scale results are more than amezing. Got the 3 Tamiya porsches in 1-12 already and the more i look to them the more i love them. After seeing this video in might go with Red instead of the black, because where i grew up in europe,a bar/discothek owner had first a red one,and later he bought a black one. Or i will build them both..... depends on the mood of my wife?? Mabay as a birthday gift or under the x-mas tree

Yes, to be honest, I didn’t think that a large scale would take so much longer in fitting and processing parts. I wish you good luck with the R32 GTR 1-12 from Fujimi it is a great car. and thanks for the comment.

They had this same model in the 1990s but the exterior was molded in glossy black and the interior was molded in the proper tan color so those parts didn't have to be painted. I built that model and it was wonderful, but I gave it away several years later. I wish I hadn't. There was also a Camaro Z28 in the same scale which I also built.

Some really nice touches on the build. Only criticism being with a body that size in your flat down before polishing I'd go one more coat of clear to be able to start with say 1200g-1500g wet/dry trizac paper from the 3M range and move up to final sand of 5000grit before polishing that Black would've been piano finish and I use a 2mm-3mm vinyl fine line tape on intricate area's to better mask the outer radius of interiors curves like the Silver trim. Sorry if I come across as a know it all certainly not my intention it's my OCD kicking in on detail.

The Testor's Model Company made these 1/8 scale kits back in the 80's!👍 Most were molded in the body color, like on the box it came in, and two other colors, including chrome!

Testor's were the American model competitors to the Japanese Tamiya model company. Their kits were, incredibly detailed, down to everything! Hard to find a lot of those 80's and 90's kits anymore! If you can, they can be expensive for today's prices!!

The only thing wrong with anything is the exhaust tips are turned too far inside , towards the gas tank, than in a real ‘79 T/A. One tiny mistake made, but otherwise an awesome build as usual.

congratulations for the execution, a great job considering the kit at hand. revell's strong point has never been the quality of materials and accuracy of details, and this kit totally confirms the "fame" of the brand. it is a good model, but it is the classic plasticone! here in italy it costs about 180€ on Amazon (195$). considering the above, i would be very hesitant to invest such an amount of money for a "big toy". maybe i would more easily spend 300€ (325$) for Meng's Ford GT40 in 1:12. but in any case yours remains really a nice work.

Probably a good idea to look at pictures of the real car to get the colors right. The chrome dash panel is engine turned aluminum color. The hood bird was very off color. Not your fault but that would be a deal breaker since it doesn't match the rest of the trim decals. There were no white patches on the rear taillight section either.

@davebowles30208 ай бұрын

You should always paint them, even when molded in a color like black, red etc, because there’s mold marks and flow patterns in the plastic

Probably because this is a modern reproduction kit, that's probably made in China. The original 80's kits, the body was molded in black.

Hmm..."Smokey & the Bandit" was released in 1977, with a 1977 Trans Am (the same year that Star Wars was released - I went to both & 'Smoky...' was & is my favorite) - so calling a 1979 car anything to do with 'Smokey...' is just plain wrong. Those of us who where actually there, saw it, wanted one - are nothing but offended by this mistake...easily researched (but wasn't)...waste of time, let alone misinforming everyone. The late Mr Reynolds would have your head!

That could very well be - the video references the original movie...perhaps my saying 'anything to do with...' was an over-generalization, but I wasn't accounting for different movies
