As more and more people are losing their apartments and homes because of out of sight rents there is an ever increasing need for emergency shelter of any kind, especially for seniors living on small socia securitybchecks. In this short video I show you a solo male nomad living in the cab of his truck built a diy tiny house on back of his truck. He built his tiny camper for $200 or less and in only one day! As I toured his new mobile home I thought, " How easy is this? I cohld even build this out." And I think most of you could too. I show you what materials and simple tools he used to build a basic structure that can be upgraded a number of different ways. Let me know in the comments what you think of this tiny little structure and if you agree it would be easy to construct.

Decades ago I built something very similar, on a Chevrolet Silverado 8 foot bed. AND it it could raise and lower (24 inches) manually lift, legs dropped into place, studs/pins into hole in the bed floor. I covered it with a then available vinyl bed cover which had full perimeter heavy duty velcro. I also designed it to have bed access from the top, without having to raise the camper. Materials were 2 x 4, 2x6, three 4'x8' quarter inch plywood, residential door hinges, and bolts, and 1x1 aluminum angle, a few metal corner braces. Easy one day build. Held down with motorcycle style staps anchor inside the bed. Could drive in the raised position if desired. Same pass through cab window. Rear was simple plywood panel, extending just below the tailgate (when raised), hinges at the top, simple stick to hold up when necessary.

I bought a brand new Dodge truck in California in 1979, and the hot ticket back then was to install an insulated vinyl boot that attached to a topper, then the truck side was installed inside the cab with snaps (after removing the window from the topper and truck). You could easily crawl through the opening. It would be perfect for boon-docking. Of course the 70 y/o me today probably couldn’t crawl through too easily, but the 25 y/o me sure did.

I was excited to see this video that shows a real solution for people just starting out and need a way to to move without having thousands of dollars to even begin. I also thought "G's" willingness to build was really helpful for those that can't build this. This is the type of creative solutions we need.♥️

I am 69 years old and I built my truck a camper on the back using “A-roof” as my style. This allows me to stand up in the back, which is very very helpful when cooking or cleaning up. If you use 2x2’s and 2x3’s and luon ply (with several coats of seal N’ stain) you can save on weight. I do not have the luxury of a window crawl through so I took out the backseat of my crew cab and built a bed platform so that I can sleep in locked quarters . This also allows me to store tools and things of value under the bed. I prayed through the whole process. God is faithful and good and He is our ultimate Resource and Provider!😊

Is he going to use PMF for the skin to weatherproof it? I have seen SUCH good reviews on that and it looks quite easy and cheap, and very light weight! I have also wondered what ever happened to using the builder’s pink foam (with the pink panther on it) for cabinets and shelves? It was a thing for a little while but I haven’t seen much so I wonder if it didn’t work after all? Supposedly with using the PMF it was supposed to have pretty good strength! Last thing, I just re-subscribed! I did not realize I wasn’t subscribed until I just saw you on Pascal’s channel doing the Teresa thing! Oh well, I’m back and let me say, thank you for all you do for these folks!! I started watching you when you very first got started, right after you got your van!!!
