Build your fence once with Timeless posts and be done with it. Building fence is hard work, don't do it twice because you use inferior materials. The folks at Timeless Fence can help you calculate your farm fencing needs.

Thanks Greg, always encouraged by your videos. My wife and I are 26 just getting started farming in south west Michigan. My in-laws run a fruit orchard business and we are trying to utilize the unused low lying land for grazing. I appreciate you sharing products and practices that you have perfected. Has saved us and will continue to save us tons of time and money. Hope one day to be able to grow our farm business and leave our town jobs. Thanks for supporting young folks getting into farming!

@@user-kv2pt4lu9y Maybe someday, but current regulation around animals in the orchard do not allow for it during a good majority of the year.

Thanks for the video! Timeless fence post are awesome. All my line posts are timeless besides the corner post I got from you. I want to mow the roadsides but I worry someone would be looking at my animals and hit them on accident or they would scare the drivers. It’s great seeing green grass.

I didn’t realize the timeless fence post were flexible. Im looking to fence off about 70 acres. What spacing do you generally use for your line posts? Also when fencing on a property line, do you put your fence directly on the property line or do you leave some space? If you leave space about how much do you leave? Thanks for sharing your wisdom. 16-20 feet on post spacing. Put your fence directly on the property line if possible. You don’t want to give up any land.

One thing I was surprised about is was doing an interior fence with NRCS and they denied me using the H brace system. They are allowing the regular posts.

If you use their program, they have set rules and control the purse. They seem to be pretty set on wooden h braces.

Planted some cool season native grasses like wedge grass and wild rye last fall and they are doing well. Have big bluestem and blue gama already just wanted to determine how the cool season natives will take the summer weather and how strong they will comeback next fall.

Just got my Timeless order the other day. Still removing the old field fence & steel posts. Greg - how do you keep that fence line clear? The animals carefully eat the grass? Or just rely on the charger to dry out the grass and prevent growth? We are getting ready for ruminants (maybe next year or this Fall).
@gregjudyregenerativerancher
@gregjudyregenerativerancher 19 күн бұрын
Do not shut off your charger and it will dry out any plants that touch the wire. Get a SPEEDRITE charger, they work the best.

Yes you can use a T-post puller to remove them.
@carolinablonde88
@carolinablonde88 19 күн бұрын
I used a t post puller and found them to be a tad more difficult than steel posts to remove because they bend and the fact that they don't have nubs, but we did manage to pull them. One trick you can do is wrap a piece of wire through a hole and around the end of the puller. Then you just position it and pull up on the posts. That actually worked better for us than trying to use it like you do on steel posts. I love my timeless fence and will forever use their posts, even on temporary spots where you need something a little more sturdy than step ins

Black locust are good posts, make sure you use posts that are at least 5-6” diameter. Smaller diameter posts rot off quicker.
@chaddewitt2836
@chaddewitt2836 19 күн бұрын
The problem with locust posts is they can be hit or miss as far as rot resistance goes. Also, after a few years they become harder than concrete and you cannot pound a staple in them if you need to.
