I love the tins they ship parts in. I think I have enough parts to make five complete watches. Plenty of parts to choose from for variety and as spares. Thanks for reminding me I’ve been lazy 😂😂😂

Well done! This has been one of my favourite Namokimods builds so far. I have always loved the Alpinist, so when they reached out I jumped on board right away. They did an amazing job keeping the case as slim as possible. Paired with their 5-link bracelet, it is the perfect alternative to the Seiko.

I've been intrigued by the Alpinist, and I agree - the ability to make a change or two is intriguing. Going to take a look at this for sure. Great build, Shane.

You're easily up there with Mike from 'This Watch, That Watch' channel in the 'Relaxing Watch Video' category. I could never do this, myself. My 'electron microscope' OCD would never let me seal it for the dust on the dial and crystal!

Fantastic video Shane! When it comes to hand alinement and date change accuracy I always say -5, +5 min between 12am is fine enough for me. Besides I have no business being up at that time for it to be perfect anyways 😂. I’m really honored for the deep dive mention my friend. 🤝

Good advice. Your welcome, its a great video.

If they sold a case with a time bezel & not a useless compass, this would be a no-brainer
@RelativeTime23 күн бұрын
That's a good suggestion for them. Wouldn't be hard to do. The bezel just a plastic ring with gear teeth on the bottom. Just create a different one and use the same case.

@@RelativeTime Love the T-Shirt!!! I have a Land Monster w/ this manual compass feature and I use it as a second 12 hour timezone (with some imagination, N=12, E=3, S=6, W=9...). Another 24hour internal bezel would be useful with a GMT function to track a 3rd timezone!

Interesting video, I can see why you like it 👍

My favorite Alpinist has been the modern blue dial so I would make something like that.

Me: Shane said I need to just jump into the deep end. Wife: Is this the same guy who convinced you to spend $175 each on modifying $20 Casios… This is super cool. I’m not very smart, but at least I’m self aware enough to know I will MESS this up. Thanks for showing it to us though.

I see you're sharing the same philosophy of "good enough" with Derek from Vice Grip Garage. Good, good... 🤔

But... hows the internal bezel action?
@RelativeTime22 күн бұрын
Good. Felt as smooth as Seiko's.
@Maxiius22 күн бұрын
@RelativeTime is there good resistance or does it move when you breath on it (like the majority of alpinists I've held)?
@RelativeTime22 күн бұрын
@Maxiius somewhere in between. It doesn't take much to move it, but I haven't seen it move unless I touch it.
@LymanPhillips23 күн бұрын
LOL! Repeatedly saying it's good enough for your own build, but you'd be crabbing if you purchased it. "Good enough for government work!" Have a great Thanksgiving, Shane and everyone.
@RelativeTime23 күн бұрын
Pretty much lol. Although like I said, doing a build helps you appreciate when you do get something and it's nice and lined up. As you realize how much skill it takes.

Really cool. However, any watch I build will have a 0m water resistance rating! 😂
