This is a pretty cool build. Would be really neat to add an expression pedal to change the Resistance of the potentiometer

would super easy to add an exp jack you just need a switching stereo jack 👍

I followed this except without the DC Jack, led and resistore and I dunno if I did it right or not. When the pedal is turned off I lose the effect pedal its linked to and just get a clean sound, is this correct? Also doesn't seem to like my DIY fuzz I built as it doesn't change much but makes my Autowah go crazy when it the knob is fully to the right which is funny as

yep it should just be a clean bypass. Some circuits will react differently to feedback loops its just the nature of the beast

you’d need a stereo switching jack, its difficult to explain in a comment with no diagrams but if you give it a google there are quite a few articles on swapping a pot for an EXP in 👍

@HOLYISLANDAUDIO2 жыл бұрын
You would need to build another circuit to run a parallel clean blend. The runoffgroove splitter-blend would do it I’m sure there are simpler circuits for clean blends too if you have a dig online

If I were trying to integrate this into a pedal, (so it wouldn't have any jacks, I just want the knob, the LED and the footswitch, would you just split the signal of the pedal in two at the end of the circuit, and then treat one side of that as the send and return hot leads on the jacks and the other side as the in and out hot leads on the jacks?
@wrencormier5133 жыл бұрын
The pedal is a modified fuzz face circuit i designed
@HOLYISLANDAUDIO3 жыл бұрын
Do you mean you'd wanna add it into a pedal you already have? You'd want to wire it so the send is going directly to the input of your effect and the output of the effect is going directly to the return. Depending on the effect you're adding it to you may wanna use a different pot, might be worth auditioning a few, The pot I use in this video was just the value I'd had the best results with in most instances! 👍

Hi, great video! I've built this pedal, but it kills the signal of the connected effects when the footswitch is disengaged. Is there a way of adding a switch to keep the effects on when the Feedback Loop is off? Or have I done something stupidly wrong?? Thanks in advance!
@HOLYISLANDAUDIO2 жыл бұрын
That’s what it’s supposed to do! There’s a bunch of diagrams online for a feedback loopers with toggles to flip it into just a regular looper

Hi !! Amazing stuff, about to start building one as my first pedal project! Was just wondering if you had a drilling template by any chance, even without the design, or if you know easy ways of making one ! Thank you for the vid !
@HOLYISLANDAUDIO2 жыл бұрын
Hey, I think I just eyeballed it tbh. If you wanted to make one I’d recommend downloading a build guide pdf for a random pedal in the same enclosure size from somewhere like pedalpcb. They usually have a drill guide in there so you can use that as the template and add your own holes/move the existing ones.
@antoineleonardon28632 жыл бұрын
Ok thank you !

You drill the enclosures after they are painted and screenprinted without any painters tape? How do you not scratch the finish?
@HOLYISLANDAUDIO3 жыл бұрын
🤷♂️ it’s pretty easy? Just be careful I guess
@cavanray53273 жыл бұрын
@@HOLYISLANDAUDIO I would assume it must be doable since you aren't the first I've seen do it, but so many diy instructions say you should use painter tape, but not having to do it would be alot faster.
@HOLYISLANDAUDIO3 жыл бұрын
@@cavanray5327 Whenever I’ve seen other people use masking tape it’s usually because they’re measuring out their holes and marking out measurements on the tape stops you having to draw directly on the enclosure. I include the drill template into my artwork so don’t need to measure anything
@cavanray53273 жыл бұрын
@@HOLYISLANDAUDIO I assumed it was also to protect the enclosure. I'm talking about the blue painters tape btw. I would love to have the drill holes marked on the template, I just want to avoid the shavings scratching the paint.

could it work without a pedal in the loop? like if i patched the send a return together or if i just wired it without one? Cause ive been lnterested in a feedback mod i saw for a big muff and thought i could use it for a pedal until i found this
@HOLYISLANDAUDIO2 жыл бұрын
nope because nothing would be fed back on itself. a feedback loop for a big muff would be feeding the muff back on itself.

does the signal pass through the pedals in the loop (just without feedback) when the pedal is bypassed, or does it bypass the pedals in the loop entirely?

about the A500K is it linear? no idea what the difference is, just wanna be sure
@HOLYISLANDAUDIO2 жыл бұрын
nope, it’s logarithmic. That’s what the ‘A’ prefix means, if it was linear it would be a B500k. Each pedal behaves differently with a feedback looper so I’d recommend trying bunch of values to see what works best with what you have in the loop.
