I wanted to come back to this video and say thank you. I recently finished my first build and without all your videos it would have been much more difficult. Even something as simple as how to flip a neutrik was useful and seeing in a simple way how to assemble things made it less daunting. Thank you for all your videos

Hey, thanks for your nice comment! I'm glad the vids helped and you took the time to come back and say as much. You should also definitely post your completed build pics in the r/fightsticks subreddit if you haven't.

Would be cool if they offered a BNB kit with a Mortal Kombat hole pattern, or at least an un-drilled version so I could do it myself. Anyways, Great video! 🤘

Very interesting! I rarely see anyone mention the old MK layouts. But speaking of BnB cases, I'm sure jonyfraze could cut a 4tW enclosure (there's another vid on this channel which showcases what that enclosure looks like assembled if you're not familiar) with your preferred layout, MK or otherwise. Hopefully you get your ideal stick! Thanks for watching!
@1RacerXer
@1RacerXer 11 ай бұрын
@@HushMySweet1 Yeah I've been obsessed with MK since the first one came out in 92'. I still play the first three so I thought it would be fun and cool to build a stick that reflected the original arcade cabs, specifically MK3 with the "run" button. I've never built one from scratch though, I've only modded or switched out parts. Your channel has given me inspiration!

Nice build, I bet your friend loved it. But I do have a question, would the LED solution interfere with a possible upgrade with the Brook PS5 daughterboard?
@HushMySweet1
@HushMySweet1 Жыл бұрын
Well, it is physically possible to cram both into the same terminal, yes. I haven't done it personally, but I asked on the discord and some people who had, reported issues with the power draw. If that becomes an issue for you, then you may need to hack off another segment or two of the LED strip so it can run it all. Good luck.
@reeeech9245

In theory yes they are easy to put together. BUT make sure they are actually compatible. Had wires that weren't long enough (Brooks 20 pin wires - yes so easy to assemble but they didn't not fit into a Fightbox. Yet they're ok for HITBOX which is much much larger?) The wiring scheme was impossible to match the button layout. Then the USB didn't work on the Brooks PCB. The only thing that was super super easy was getting SCREW type buttons.
@HushMySweet1
@HushMySweet1 Жыл бұрын
Yes, someone looking to build their own should make sure all the parts are compatible. There are 5-pin joystick wiring extensions if the enclosure is wider or the PCB is seated in an unusual position. If people are ever questioning if something will go together, they can always post on r/fightsticks or the fightsticks discord so fellow enthusiasts and community members can help address issues. For the most part though (in my experience at least), most of these come together fairly well without issue.

@@HushMySweet1 yeah i'm just annoyed how a Brook wire and Brook board doesn't fit in a normal Fightbox. And then run into really annoying labeling system, and then a faulty usb connection. sigh.... it's my first full mod and think this would be since everything is and should have been compatible but why am i having so many issues that's shouldn't even be there in the first place.

is there a way to do led button reactions on a fight stick? i cant find a videoon how to do this
@HushMySweet1
@HushMySweet1 5 ай бұрын
The way this one worked, you would just use the remote that came with the strip to set the light animations. If the controller you're using is using GP2040-CE firmware (and obviously has the LEDs), you can use the web configurator to program different colors and animations. I'll try to do a video on that soon. Also, there are other light options like Kaimana which are also programmable.
@InSaiyan-Shinobi

@@HushMySweet1 honestly that would be dope if you do a video on that because honestly I haven’t seen any video of any one showing how they did it or showed how they got it to work for each button and how it reacts with the presses.

Hello great vid and I have a question about the wireless board because Im in the process of building my first stick. Is there a battery pack I need to power the stick for the Bluetooth connection? And if so do you recommend anything for that?
@HushMySweet1
@HushMySweet1 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! Yeah, you will need a battery for this. There are some wires from the battery you'll need to connect near the USB-B on the board itself. The battery needed is an external PS3/PS4 battery pack (3.7V/1800mAh). I put together this stick for a friend (so no longer have it to check specifically), so can't remember all the details, but I don't remember it actually coming with the battery. Anyway, good luck with your build!

It just clips right in. "To fulfill the wireless use function, a battery is needed, and you can choose PS3/PS4 official controller’s battery for the PS4+ Audio & Wireless fighting board. When the battery is charging without connecting the board to console, you would see breathing light on player LED." www.brookaccessory.com/pro.php?m=d&pid=41130595 Good luck.

I have a "Hitbox-style" all-button controller assembly video planned and I'll have exact links to specific product in that one. For this one, it was a Butter Banger V1 enclosure with green foam padding, a Brook Wireless PCB, Brook wireless battery caddy/mount, recessed antenna mount, Neutrik, Neutrik NA-USB surround and support, eight 30 mm face buttons (this case was designed for Sanwa snap-ins), three 24 mm Sanwa snap-ins for aux functions, 20-Pin Joystick/Button Harness, Sanwa JLF, Otto V5 DIY kit, $10 generic LED strip, Right Angle USB-A to USB-B Cable, clear dust washer, jawbreaker style 38 mm balltop, blue shaft cover, and a vinyl goblin sticker. I think that was about it. Good luck with your build!
