The XJ has been needing a sturdy, heavy duty roof rack for a while so we got to designing a fully custom rack! We came across Josh’s design on Instagram and loved how he dropped the front over the windshield to give the rack a low-profile design. He was kind enough to send us some pictures and measurements to help us get started. Next up we needed some lighting hardware and that’s where legendary off-road lighting company KC stepped in and helped us out by sending us some KC Daylighters! They add a ton of color to the Jeep and give it a classic, vintage look. For a special touch we added a ladder to the passenger side to help us access whatever we put on the roof.

I’ve been trying to work up the confidence and knowledge to do this myself. I’m blown away at how this turned out and I’m going to see if I can’t replicate this style of build on my 1990 Suburban

The rack turned out really awesome, y'all did a bad ass job, looks awesome on the rig too top notch work, if the bed liner doesent hold up go to home depot and buy some rustoleum coal tar epoxy, that stuff is literally bullet proof, that's what im putting on my trailer, we use it at work for industrial pumps

Nice design for a unique rack. Looks similar to one dirt lifestyle made for his newer rig. Question, Why did you not cover the entire deck area, rather opted to leave the front open. I didn't see a sunroof or reason you would want to leave that much space unused

A measurement of the back of the daylighters to where the trunk would hit fully open about an inch above the rack would be a tremendous help!
