Buildertrend cost codes quoting estimating price import tutorial. PlusDesignBuild 3D BIM in Sketchup

Estimating a building and having your estimate organized inside of Buildertrend can be difficult. This video shows how to synchronise your item codes / Cost codes with Buildertrend and how to bring an estimate into Buildertrend that includes: Cost Code, Title, Description, Quantity, Unit, Unit price, Cost & Total cost. This information is derived from a 3D model using the PlusDesignBuilds drawing and estimating system the works inside of Sketchup 18 Sketchup 19 Sketchup 20 & Sketchup 2021.

PlusDesignBuild is an end to end building package that enables architects, builders estimators to either trace plans or create their own designs and view plans and details in 3D. The plans and details are representations of the actual building and can be printed onto plans for clients, engineers, subcontractors including carpenters, concreters, plumbers and brick layers. Once the project feasibility is established from the inbuilt estimating system it can be exported to Buildertrend and used in their CRM for client communication, selection and then exported to Xero. Or PlusDeisgnBuild can directly communicate with Xero and export client quotes, purchase orders and invoices, the result being a profit and loss statement inside of Xero which can give a running job balance.

Good class. But I have a doubt: where are costs posted (expenses with materials and labor) in a project within Buildertrend. In this case the project was by contract, that is, closed price, but I need to enter the expenses/costs that were involved in the project to see my profit or loss.

PlusDesignBuild also synchronises with Xero, I guess it depends on the way you use Buildertrend or ,if you use Buildertrend with Xero. The difference between this software and other estimating programs is the BOQ is actually associated with geometry that you can physically see. Other estimating programs enable you to associate items with linear, square, each and cubic but it is only "meta" text and it's very easy to get wrong. With PlusDeisgnBuild if you can see it it is quantified. To use PlusDesignBuild just as an estimating tool is of no real benefit, our users use it to find issues, demonstrate what will be built to the client and the subs. At this stage, we enable the quantity fields (that are associated with cost codes) to be imported into Buildertrend our users and then filter via the cost codes in Buildertrend, but we all know there are many different ways to skin a cat, so we leave it to individuals to choose how they like to use teh tools. There is a distinct difference between the total output of Cubit, SoftPlan Prebuilt ML Chief architect Stack, Square takeoff, Clear estimates, Plan Swift ETC than there is with PlusDesignBuild. PlusDesignBuild virtually builds projects the others simply do takeoffs from plans and that works for some, the issue with this is: when the plans change the estimate need to be redone, whereas PlusDesignBuidl is the plan and the takeoff. It is not estimating software it is virtual design and construction software that delivers a BOQ that can be utilized in Buildertrend.
