Hi George, for me you easily have the most interesting 009/HOe site. This is such an interesting model. The chassis assembled in really well. From an overseas perspective, 3D printing is the only way to go. The UK prototypes in RTR are terribly limited compared to the huge array of narrow gauge steam used world wide. Even European HOe bottoms out fairly quickly, but you can find a chassis for anything … Will the day come when you start cutting out every second spoke in an N Gauge donor chassis?

I really like that what you do fits so well with these types of engines. I was so close to making a narrow gauge but I don’t feel like I know enough about the kind I’d want to remodel, living in the usa. I didn’t want to do an old west railway either. The makers of those locos aren’t really doing anything right now, and I’m not sure they have people 3d printing great kits like these. Plus, it’s probably better i do something I’m more familiar with. Ready to run locos and all. Thanks for sharing this video!

@@GWilliamsonModels I probably will Tho not for 009 usage . Maybe to fit with my N scale models . There isn’t that much of a difference for size . Besides . I ain’t fussed with scale . Just a N scale driver and fireman in the cab Some paint . Probably black and red bufferbeams the finding of 2 class 08 shunters That’s it ! Not too hard I recon . But my main setback will be I recon the chassis . I have only ever wanted to grab 1 80 shunter for well it’s intended usage as a 08 for N scale . But I may need to get 3 now … I mean Christmas is coming up … maybe I could get one then . I know rails of Sheffield has plenty in all sorts of livery’s I also see them LOADS in real life Two at the seven valley line both BR green One at york that dose shunting . In a red livery I think EWS One at the place where I voilenter . George stepnensons in BR blue One at the North Yorkshire moors in BR blue In short … Everywhere … and yet I have never had one EVER as a model Not in 00 scale as I know hornby made them loads of times … but I never had one And now in N scale . Grahamfarish has made plenty and they all look really nice … but I have never got one yet … but to grab two for a garret . It seems like really fun … but I don’t know if I have the cash Personally if I am to get any they would be in these livery’s BR blue BR green EWS red But … that’s later Maxwell to enjoy . For now I am content . tho having to buy 5 of the class 08 . 3 to keep as what they are and 2 to be killed for the garret . Maybe for 17 year old me perhaps … but for now I am fine

Such a cool engine, there's a couple in Australia too, No.127 and No.129 in Victoria on the Puffing Billy railway, 127 came with a load of spare parts which helped return 129 to steam, although 127 is on display currently it sounds like it might be possible to have both operational with both the parts and it's overall condition 129's return to service is fairly recent too, only being in 2019 after 23 years of work

@@GWilliamsonModels I am good at painting .. But the chassis making … the valvegear … PAH I am gunna be able to do it … until the chassis . And I ain’t a fan of needle sized crank pins nor the whole making valvegear part Personally the cylenders will be just for show I recon . And all the extra valvegear will probably not be done . Or I may get some other person to do it . Maybe my local model shop could … they have a loop of different scales of track . I remember taking my class 66 in N scale … and it looked funny next to a double farlie in 009 . But anyways I recon they could do the valvegear … but for now I recon that’s not my main issue However my concern is how do the tank and tender couple to the centre body of the boiler ? By gravity or some form of screw to hold it all . I ain’t a fan of gravity to hold my models together . And I can’t glue them since they gotta swivel , that’s my only issue with it .
