Building a 120sq. ft. Workshop | Ship Shop 2.0

First thing we need to build is a workshop. A new Ship Shop. Westward ho! Gary has lead the Black Hart to the desert for the next part of our adventure. Time for work!

Exactly 24 square feet smaller than my bedroom, and tiny by all accounts compared to the workshops we see many other makers have at their disposal. However, I know that we'll see great things come out of that diminutive footprint! It's great to see you embarking on this new chapter with your own shop that is totally your own. I'm betting with the layout of your shop and little house there that you'll be able to do many things outdoors without needing to actually be within the shop itself, only needing to put tools and projects away for the night. Heck, I'm even envisioning some kind of cool canopy with light strings that will keep you working after the sun has gone down. I'm working out of a whopping 42 square feet myself, but I know watching you build this out will be inspiring and I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with both the shop and the house. I also just decided to take the plunge into trying to become a full-time maker (videos and everything), so I will also continue watching to see how you handle the challenges of truly becoming an independent, self-sustaining maker.

Love the build, and video! Had the same thought about the color...I know it's your aesthetic (very important), but a black box in that desert is going to *kill* in the summer. Lived in NM, and everyone drives white vehicles, if you catch my drift, cap'n, sir. White roof really helps. Maybe one black wall for filming? Just brainstorming, big fan. 🙂
