I think more lighter cheaper and solid solution is use Midas DN4816-O conected do Ultranet on Behringer XAir18. Then you can make digital split directly from input to output. Whole system with 2 wireles IEMs can easy fit in 4U rack.

Would've been cleaner if you flipped the ears on the mixer to keep all the wires inside the rack. Little simpler than having to unplug the snake from the mixer every setup. Only plugs really necessary are the Mains since they aren't using all the AUXs.

@@daveg4236 I have 50s on everything except the wireless mics that are already wired in the case. So guitar, bass , 2 keys & the drums use 2 channels from the separate mixer. Then LR last 2 channels for break music.

The hinged split panel can be purchased direct from the LM Cases store: www.lmcasesonline.com/24ch-1-2-hinged-mic-split-panel-unloaded/

Hi Billy, great content keep ‘em coming! That’s my main “board” for freelance work (corp AV as 9-5). You could use the aux in 17/18 for 2 more channels btw! I personally use that if there’s a dj hired for a gig.

Thanks for the kind words Francis! This was my first experience with the XAir. It was a really easy console to get around on, the only thing that was weird was going into the setup menu to name the channels! The band is using 17/18 for their SPD pad. I figured most people used those as a DJ line.

@@billylaguardia takes 5 minutes to build a decent mix and rougly a couple days to get around the app and wrap your head around it. The scribble strip took a while before I got to it, I usually would just use the desktop version to name the tracks then figured out how to do it on the app.

@@junejhunkie kinda late, but did you try using the mixing station app instead of the official one? I found it much better and it's customization options are incredible

@@Fifsson_ I have not, I've heard so many good things about the mixing station app. Just couldn't justify to pay for it now that I do mostly admin stuff these days since my last comment. I still do freelance work but they are very far in between.

@@junejhunkie The basic version is free and works well, I used it for a while before I bought the full one. It has mostly quality-of-life stuff as far as I remember, and in my currency was about an equivalent to 6 loaves of bread. Definitely would recommend.

What bit did you use to cut the hole in the rack ear?

Nice build Billy. What are your thoughts on the behringer rack splitters? Have you used them?

Hi Gabo. I’ve never used the Behringer splits. I had the ART S8 for a while which worked well.

This is really good but you need to get your audio to be better. I need to hear you say, "this will work even for guys like you/me." Keep up the great work. But louder.
